NCYAB Riley: DARE was on full display. Last night I was crowned Miss Davidson County. My platform was "From Dare to the Fair". Daren was even in the student section living his best life. I'm truly blessed to be able to be part of something that I love to promote.

Meet the D.A.R.E. Officers of Jacksonville PD 👋

Jacksonville (North Carolina) has been home to the D.A.R.E. program since the early 90s, and it continues to grow. Today, these officers teach students how to resist drugs, communicate clearly, build confidence, and navigate challenges with strength and kindness.

This past year, over 750 students across Jacksonville and Camp Lejeune completed the program and took with them valuable lessons they can use for years to come.

Thank you to the incredible officers of Jacksonville PD for helping shape the next generation through education, encouragement, and leadership.

🎒Students, teachers, and staff are returning to campuses across North Carolina, and our School Resource Officers (SROs) are ready to ensure a safe, supportive environment for all.

Our SROs aren’t just about enforcement—they’re here to build trust, offer guidance, and help students feel safe and supported every day. Encourage your child to connect with their SRO if they ever feel unsafe or need help.

🚨 North Carolina Drivers: School Safety Reminders
✔️ Slow down in school zones
🚌 Stop for school buses with flashing red lights (it’s the law!)
📵 Put the phone down—distractions can cost lives
🚸 Watch for children crossing streets or waiting at bus stops

🚌 Bus Safety Tips
Students: Always wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before boarding.
Drivers: Passing a stopped school bus is illegal, dangerous, and puts children's lives at risk.
