🌊🛶 Learning to Be Safe Afloat! 🛶🌊

Troop 159 joined up with our friends from Emmetsburg for a hands-on lesson in Safety Afloat and kayak skills! Scouts learned important water safety skills, practiced paddling techniques, and gained confidence out on the water.

From learning to paddle to learning how to stay safe, every experience helps our Scouts become more prepared for their next adventure! 🌲💦

Our Troop 159 leaders are continuing to learn, grow, and prepare for adventure by attending Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)!

IOLS gives Scout leaders the hands-on skills and confidence needed to provide safe, meaningful, and fun outdoor experiences for our Scouts—from camping and cooking to knots, navigation, leadership, and so much more.

We believe in giving our Scouts leaders who are prepared, confident, and ready to lead the way. Because every Scout deserves trained leaders!

🌟 A first for Troop 159! 🌟

We’re proud to celebrate Logan, the first Scout from Troop 159 to attend National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)!

NYLT is Scouting America’s premier youth leadership course, where Scouts build the skills to become stronger leaders—not only in their troop, but also in their schools, communities, and future careers. Throughout the course, participants develop confidence in:
⭐ Communication
⭐ Teamwork
⭐ Goal setting
⭐ Planning and problem-solving
⭐ Leading by example
⭐ Serving others

The lessons learned at NYLT don’t end when the course is over—they come home with each Scout, helping strengthen our troop and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

A memorable first Fourth of July for Troop 159! 🇺🇸⚜️

Our Scouts started the day serving breakfast at our charter organization, the Armstrong VFW, then joined Pack 159 in the Armstrong 4th of July Parade.

A day of service, community, and celebrating America’s 250th birthday. Here’s to many more Fourth of July traditions!

This week, Troop 159 is excited to attend our very first summer camp alongside Troop 46 of Emmetsburg at the beautiful L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation in Wisconsin.

Summer camp is one of the highlights of the Scouting year, giving Scouts the opportunity to try new activities, build confidence, make lasting friendships, and earn a variety of merit badges. From outdoor skills and waterfront adventures to shooting sports, nature exploration, and leadership development, camp offers experiences that help Scouts grow while having fun in the great outdoors.

We are grateful for the opportunity to camp with Troop 46 and look forward to a week filled with adventure, learning, and memories that will last a lifetime.
