ADOPTED!!!

Barsik is looking for his forever home. He is a little shy but a loving boy once he knows you. He would get along with another cat or a friendly dog. Apply at www.anewstartmcr.org

Both ADOPTED!
Update on the sick Maine C**ns I took in a few weeks back... TWO of them are ready to go. They are progressing nicely and I feel comfortable allowing them to be adopted. (Barsik - the black one - is being picked up/adopted this Thursday. YAY)
I know a lot of you applied, but most of you did not mention who exactly you were interested in. If you have applied, please message me who you would like to be considered for.

Please bear in mind that they will need continue weight monitoring to encourage more weight gain and vet checks to make sure their path of healing is on the right track!

KAZIMIR - 3 year old Neutered Male. Black Smoke. While being neutered the vet noted early onset stomatitis and gave him a DepoMedrol shot and a Convenia shot to help offset this. He will need monitoring of his mouth to make sure this has not progressed. You will have to be mindful that teeth extractions my be inevitable and be ok with providing that.
He was shaved on his underside and sides because of the mats on his body - the fur will continue to grow in and he will fill out.

STARDUST - 2 year old Silver Shaded Spayed Female. She has healed nicely from her spay surgery and is gaining weight nicely. Her fur is filling in. She is still getting eye ointment in her one eye twice a day and I will send that along with her. She no longer has the upper respiratory infection and should continue to improve daily.

Both of these kitties are as loving and as sweet as you can imagine. I have never seen them around dogs so I can't answer to how they would be. They are nice to the the other cats in their room, but I have not let them around my personal or foster cats. They don't seem to be bothered by my cats at the door, so I feel with the slow, proper introduction they should be fine. As for young children, I don't know that either. They are a little shy because of where they came from, but get more confident as they get to know you.

As North Texas Giving Day draws to an end - I reflect on today and am so very grateful for the support of everyone. Even though I had an emotional setback today, I still haven't forgotten that I can't do it without your help. I would not have been able to take Benny to the vet today and pay the $400 vet bill without your donations. I would not be able to TRY without your help. You make my heart full of so much love and appreciation. Thank you for helping me and thank you for helping the kitties. We need you and we are grateful that you care about us!

At the vet with Benny. A 6 week old Maine C**n kitten born with a stubby tail. 2 days ago he stopped being able to use his right leg. Getting x rays to see if we can figure out what’s going on!

My main 501c3 rescue - Maricats Rescue- is participating in North Texas Giving Day. This event is this THURSDAY the 17th. Please donate if you can to help me save more kitty lives!! Next year my Maine C**n rescue will be registered to participate!

We are a non-profit 501 (c)(3) rescue! Each kitty in our rescue has been saved from either a shelter or dire situation. They have been spayed/neutered, tested for FIV and FeLV, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and received a 30 day flea treatment. They have clean...

Do you guys see this ridiculous crap? It’s unbelievable.

For those of you who have applied to adopt - Thank you! The kitties had surgeries today and I have some updates with pictures.

BARSIK - Black male was neutered with eye surgery. Stitches come out in 2 weeks and he will be ready to go.

KAZIMIR - Black smoke male. He was neutered and has the onset of stomatitis. Vet gave him antibiotics and steroids to help the swelling go down in his mouth. Whomever adopts him will have to be mindful of this and be able to continue his treatment going forward which could involve teeth removal.

NALA - Brown tabby female - she was spayed and she has 6 very infected teeth that need to be removed. She was given an antibiotic shot and will have the surgery in 10 days. She will be available after she has healed from that.

This is a prime example of why donations are so critical. This was all unexpected expenses that we will have to cover to get them healthy. Thank you all for your support!
