Hey guys, this will be a really cool event on Friday the 28th. If you are able to come over to Dfw D terminal, you can park in the two hour parking and walk to the bottom area where the international arrivals are and welcome home these heroes. I’m actually flying out that day 45 minutes later from a terminal so I am unable to attend, but I really wish I could. Randy Gary and the Vet’s will come out From customs there.
American Airlines has teamed up with Veterans United and actor Gary “Lt. Dan” Sinise to bring a group of 10 veterans back to Vietnam, where they fought over 50 years ago. Among those on this journey is Medal of Honor recipient Jim Taylor, who had never been back to the country where he earned our nation’s highest award for valor. Along the way, a documentary narrated by Gary is being filmed, telling their stories of war and their emotional return.
As is proper, we’ re planning a fitting homecoming for these heroes at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport on Friday, Nov. 28th. The expected arrival time of AA Flight 280 is 5:05 PM and we’ll send out updates with any significant changes. The location will be Terminal D at International Arrivals on the lower level, and the arrival will be filmed as part of this documentary. We ask that you plan to arrive no later than 4:30 PM as these flights from Seoul, South Korea tend to land early due to favorable winds.
On the day after Thanksgiving, when so many have turned to shopping for Christmas, we need your help to fill the arrivals area to show our thanks and gratitude for those who were not appreciated when they came home from Vietnam. We need your help to invite other patriotic Americans to join Gary Sinise at DFW to welcome them home from their long journey overseas.
We have a marching band, but we need everyone to come out, bring a poster sign of thankfulness, and give these Vietnam veterans the welcome home that they didn’t receive so many years ago.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
