Lets go!!!!!
Youth ministry feels louder and heavier than it used to. More opinions. More pressure. More expectations. More noise telling you what you should be doing to reach students right now.
In the middle of all that, I just want to say this as clearly and simply as I can:
Don’t drift from the basics.
Stay close to Jesus.
Invite students to do the same.
Jesus never asked us to impress teenagers. He asked us to follow Him—and then help others follow Him too. He modeled a life rooted in prayer, obedience, Scripture, love, truth, and presence. That hasn’t changed. And it still works.
Teenagers don’t need a cooler version of Christianity.
They need a clearer picture of Jesus.
They need leaders who actually walk with Him.
Leaders who open the Word.
Leaders who pray when no one is watching.
Leaders who love students patiently, consistently, and truthfully.
Leaders who point to Jesus more than themselves.
You don’t have to reinvent the mission.
You don’t have to chase every trend.
You don’t have to carry the weight of outcomes that only God can control.
Just stay close.
Teach them to stay close.
Trust that Jesus still changes lives.
What you’re doing matters more than you think. Seeds are being planted—even on days when it feels slow or unseen. Stay faithful. Stay rooted. Stay encouraged.
I’m grateful for you. I’m praying for you. And I’m cheering you on as you keep leading students to the One who changes everything.
With you in this,
Scott
