🎉 Congratulations to River Legacy Foundation, our next Women Inspiring Philanthropy Grant Recipient! 🌿
Through its commitment to preserving natural spaces, environmental education, and community engagement, River Legacy Foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in Arlington. WIP is excited to support “A River Runs Through It” – an immersive, technology-driven, interactive learning environment engaging thousands of visitors and fostering lasting stewardship of the Trinity River. This special project will give students and families access to hands-on, place-based learning opportunities focused on their local ecosystem, water resources, and wildlife.

🎉 We’re proud to celebrate The Women’s Workforce Advancement Hub, an initiative of CWJC of Greater Arlington as a Women Inspiring Philanthropy grant recipient! 🌟

The Hub is transforming lives by helping Arlington-area women gain workforce credentials, build technology and financial literacy skills, receive personalized employment coaching, and connect to higher-paying career opportunities—all in a flexible, supportive, women-centered environment. The program aims to serve 150 women in its first year, creating pathways to economic mobility and strengthening families and the local economy.

By investing in workforce advancement, this initiative has the potential to generate more than $1.5 million in additional annual wages for participating women, creating lasting impact throughout the Arlington community. Congratulations to CWJC Greater Arlington and everyone involved in making this vision a reality!

We're excited to celebrate that Girls Inc. of Tarrant County has been selected by Women Inspiring Philanthropy for grant funding to support InnovateHER Arlington—a program designed to expand STEM opportunities for Arlington girls in grades 3–12. 💡

Through hands-on STEM experiences, mentoring, career exploration, STEM Saturdays, and camps, Arlington girls will gain the skills, confidence, and exposure needed to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, coders, and innovators. This investment helps create brighter futures for girls while building a stronger, more diverse workforce for our community.

⭐Celebrating Impact in Action⭐
What an incredible experience bringing our recent grant awards to life! 🎉
We had the honor of visiting three amazing Arlington nonprofits to present our (very large!) ceremonial checks in person this week. Each stop was a reminder of the dedication, passion, and hard work happening in our community every day.
We left feeling inspired and grateful to support organizations making a real difference.

From bold animal prints to meaningful connections, the energy in the room was a true reflection of what Women Inspiring Philanthropy is all about: community, impact, and women coming together to make a difference.
We are so proud to support River Legacy and the life-changing work they do.

✨ Member Spotlight: Kim Crawford ✨

Meet Kim Crawford—partner at Sutton Frost Cary, long-time WIP member, and our current President-Elect! A former WIP treasurer, and a recent Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Women’s Alliance Hero Award finalist, Kim’s heart for philanthropy and love for Arlington shine through in everything she does.

How did you first learn about WIP, and why did you decide to join?
I got a flyer in the mail and noticed the list of members, many of whom I knew. I have a heart for nonprofit organizations that work hard to make a difference in the lives of others, and I love all things Arlington. It was a natural fit!

What does philanthropy mean to you?
To me it means using what I’ve been given—my time, skills, and resources—to strengthen others. It’s not just about writing a check; it’s about stewardship, responsibility, and showing up.

What has surprised you most about this community?
How nice and welcoming everyone is! I love it when we come together and catch up with each other. Many of our friendships through WIP carry into other parts of the community in Arlington. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this organization is run. The women in WIP are smart, system-oriented, and very purposeful on how we use our funds.

How do you hope to make an impact – within WIP or beyond it?
I hope to make an impact by welcoming new members and by continuing to see us get to know the nonprofit organizations in our community. Every grant cycle leaves me pleasantly surprised when I hear of a nonprofit working in Arlington of which I was completely unaware! It makes me realize there are many people who are working to help others and never seek recognition for it.

How do you recharge outside of work and volunteering?
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my friends and family. I also love traveling and recently visited Machu Picchu in Peru with my husband and some friends. It was an amazing adventure! I look forward to taking my first trip to Italy this coming summer and hope to have many other adventures!
