This doctor gets it and explains the value of Power From the SON!
Power From the SON(PFS) is currently designing a rebuild and upgrade of the current electrical system for Maua Methodist Hospital in Maua, Kenya, mentioned in this article. Two of our electrical installation experts and I were there in February to evaluate what we can do to help this hospital save lives.
Please read "Don’t Send Ventilators." This is a clear explanation of the importance of electricity and the importance of providing for more than just the obvious needs. It takes infrastructure, education, and a long term commitment to help the world’s most needy.

Dear Stephen,
I know you said you didn’t need a formal thank you note from the Mama Tara Miskito Orphanage Ministry for your gift of the large generator, however, in this wonderful season of Thanksgiving, I am overjoyed with gratitude for ministries like yours and the others that have blessed us so much in the past year!
What an improvement it is to have access to electricity! Students can finish their homework, nighttime preparations are easier, and having exterior lights is an effective way to curb criminal activity.
God is truly working through your ministry to make this happen in so many different countries of the world! We are so grateful to finally have access to so much more electrical power!
May the Lord richly bless you and your team!

Dear Steve,
Thank you and all the others in your organization for donating the generator for me. It is the perfect size for me and has enough power for my needs. I can run my freezer, refrigerator, Wi-Fi and laser printer all at the same time. It is also strong enough for power tools when we occasionally need them. And of course, I love the way it starts with just a push button. And it is so quiet for such a large generator as well as being very energy efficient.
It is the perfect generator for me. Thank you so very much.
A thousand thanks, as they say here, mil gracias.
Dr. Marianne Serkland

Power From the SON volunteers have had some amazing experiences. More to come next year!

See a problem. Find a solution. Fix it. This pioneering spirit still resides deep in the heart of Texans today. It certainly moved me to act 10 years ago when the United Methodist Committee on Relief asked me to help bring electricity to Ganta Hospital in Liberia. After fourteen years of civil wa

I want to introduce you to one of Power From the SON's newest volunteers, Phil Juergens.
After a Facebook post on our August Honduras project, I made a blanket ask, “You want to go with us?” Phil replied, “I wish that I could.”
Phil and I go way back to high school. He was a really good linebacker, and we normally paired up for one on one tackling or blocking drills. We drifted apart, seeing each other only at reunions. Phil is not as mobile as he was back in the day and it is not possible for him to go to places like Gracias A Dios to install an electric system. I was surprised and flattered that he genuinely wanted to help us.
We discussed his background, thirty-five years in domestic intermodal transportation. Wow, we could use some help with that. Power From the SON (PFS) has to buy shipping containers, deliver them near San Antonio, load them with material, get them picked up, and transported to Florida in time to be loaded on a ship bound for Honduras.
PFS is so dependent on volunteers to provide electricity to those who need it the most. You might think you need to be an electrical engineer or an electrician, but you just need to be like Phil, willing to offer your time and assistance. Thanks for your help on this project, Phil!

What more can I say?

Hi Steve,
This is Laura Waits from Honduras. Just wanted to send you a quick message and let you know I just finished your book. It was so good and inspirational. Thank you for doing the same for Instituto Vida Abundante in Puerto Lempira. Our generator is amazing and has been a complete game-changer in terms of educating our students on technology, internet and connecting with the world. We sent our first students off to university and they tell us they are prepared for all computer and internet requirements. This, in itself, is incredible for kids from la Mosquitia. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Alex is going to read the book next!
Blessings from Honduras,
Laura Waits

"I just finished reading your book. Enjoyed it. It reminded me of my first trips to Honduras when I would journal every day. Our electrical system here at the House of Hope continues to work well. It has been a real God-Send since our electric provider has not gotten any better or maybe worse. Having the ability to get electricity when we need it has been so important to running the children’s home and for myself, the dental clinic."
