METACOGNITION: “The THINKING about THINKING.”
The HUMAN form of a SUPERPOWER.
The POWER is asking CONSCIOUS questions about your UNCONSCIOUS human thinking and behaviors with patterns and loops.
A relatable scenario is when after a long day at work, and after daydreaming the entire drive home; metacognition is once you pull in the drive way, you become consciously aware that your unconscious thinking just drove you home because it recognized the pattern.
This is POWERFUL because you are able to ask YOURSELF very important questions.
Why do I keep doing something when I don’t want to?
Why do I feel stuck when nothing and no one is stopping me?
Why does change feel bad or uncomfortable, when it’s the best thing for me?
Metacognition is being able to answer why you do something without blame.
When you are able to have awareness of your thoughts, you are able to control your perception.
It’s being in the STORM while observing the STORM.
You become consciously aware of your unconscious patterns and loops, so you can consciously change them.
It’s recognizing that you have thoughts that lead to behaviors, and you also hold the power to stop those thoughts and behaviors, if they are negatively affecting your life.
This CONSCIOUS awareness makes FREEDOM unavoidable.
