Our Cyclebreaker series is highlighting our 2026 graduates!

Meet Kyla Winford, 2014 Thornridge Alum who left for her Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri,
received her 1st Master of Science in Data Science and her 2nd Master of Business Administration, both from Eastern University!

Known as our “Black Barbie”, is the current IT Director at Leo High School in Chicago and a proud ACE Ambassador for the Be VicTORIEus Foundation!

Kyla doesn’t just understand the work, she LIVES it. As an ACE Ambassador, she has been on the front lines of spreading awareness about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and helping communities heal since our inception. She’s sat on panels and attended our Inaugural A.C.E. Conference!

This is what a Cyclebreaker looks like. Someone who refused to let their past define their ceiling, then turns around to help others do the same.

We celebrate you, Kyla. The Class of 2026 shines & YOU are VicTORIEus!

Want to help fund the next Kyla? Every donation to our Breaking Cycles, Building Futures Scholarship Fund makes it possible.

Every Tuesday at 6 PM CST, somebody shows up for ACEs 101 for the first time. Somebody comes back because last week changed something in them. We show up ready to learn more about a score that does NOT define us!

1in 3 people carry an ACE score. Many of us were raised in environments where trauma was normalized, silence was survival, and healing was never modeled.

But look at us now.

Doing the work.
Setting boundaries.
Choosing awareness over avoidance.
Breaking patterns instead of repeating them.

This is what cyclebreaking looks like.

It’s not perfect.
It’s not easy.
But it is intentional.

Generational trauma may have shaped us—
but it does not get to define the generations after us.

We are rewriting the story in real time. Join us!

Our inaugural class was introduced at the Cyclebreaker Legacy Scholarship Gala on April 11, 2026. It is our honor and pleasure to introduce them all to the world!

This is what a Cyclebreaker looks like…
Meet Dr. Michael Davis II. Navy veteran. Hospital Corpsman. Combat medic. Omega man. Nonprofit founder. Researcher. Doctoral graduate. Our very first Cyclebreaker Legacy Honoree!

From 2008–2015, Dr. Davis served this country in uniform. Now he serves his community as CEO & Founder of the Corpsman Up Foundation NFP, a nonprofit healthcare agency built for veterans, by someone who lived that life. His research is archived in the HistoryMakers Digital Archive as a living resource for the next generation of scholars.

defended his dissertation 3 days before he presented at our 2nd Annual A.C.E. Awareness International Conference. He was honored at our inaugural Cyclebreaker Legacy Scholarship Gala.
All in one season.

“A cycle breaker doesn’t just survive, he transforms.”

The Be VicTORIEus Foundation doesn’t just talk about breaking cycles. We celebrate the people who are already doing it. Dr. Davis, you are a true CYCLEBREAKER. You are honored. You are the definition of VicTORIEus. 💜

Now we want to hear from YOU ALL…
Do you know a Cyclebreaker in your community? Someone who is breaking generational cycles and making a real impact in the lives of others?
Tell us more… we want to highlight them too!

ACEs 101 starts Wednesday, May 6th!

3 weeks. 90 minutes each. The kind of conversation that changes how you see yourself and the people around you.

We’ll cover:
✦ What ACEs are (and what the original list misses)
✦ How toxic stress lives in the brain and body
✦ What resilience actually looks like in real life
✦ What it means to be educated in healing

This isn’t about reliving pain. It’s about understanding it so you can move forward.

Whether you’re here for yourself, your community, or the work you do every day, there’s a seat at this table for you.

We heal aloud. 💜 Join us!

2nd annual Bevictorieus A.C.E.s Awareness Conference
4.9-4.11

Thank you to everyone who showed up Friday and Saturday for the Conference. Educators were able to learn, share, and grow alongside licensed clinical social workers, cycle breakers, and powerful voices who led meaningful conversations in a safe, judgment-free space. 💙
The honesty, vulnerability, and community in those rooms meant everything, from each speaker to our informational panels we saw success in each segment during our conference!📝

To the inaugural Cyclebreaker Legacy Honoree Class of 2026,
I have been sitting with this moment, and I don’t have enough words. You didn’t just show up to a Gala. You showed up as living proof that the decision to break cycles, no matter how hard, how lonely, or how long it took, was worth it.

When I envisioned this night, I imagined honoring people who embodied what it means to be a Cyclebreaker. What I didn’t fully anticipate was how much you would pour into me. That is when I realized that I was officially transformed from a me to a WE!
Watching US in that room, dressed, glowing, and surrounded by community, reminded me exactly why I walked away from 23 years in education to do this work.

You are the reason.

Thank you for trusting me with your stories. Thank you for saying yes. Thank you for being the first, because there will never be another inaugural class.

A room full of Cyclebreakers. Honored. Celebrated. Seen. Through your work, there will be more to come.

History was made on April 11, 2026.

A room full of community witnessed this positive experience!

With so much love and gratitude,
Dr. Torie 🖤
