It’s me again! Charlton, and this past week volunteering with Water From The Rock was truly eye-opening from start to finish. Todays journey began at the food bank, where seeing their vast supply of food revealed the massive, continuous logistical effort to store and get food out to their partners. It's clear that getting food to those in need is about far more than just collecting donations.
Throughout the week, I witnessed an amazing array of partnerships in action.
Local shelters were consistently there, sharing resources, and stores provided their stock, including meat, to help. Even the police department participated as a community partner, not just for safety, but actively helping homeless clients access extended services. This vast network of support from so many community members truly showed their deep commitment. Seeing the impact first-hand was incredibly powerful; it brought home how crucial these distributions are for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity and
homelessness. It's not just about providing a meal, but offering consistent relief and showing that someone cares. Being part of that, day after day, was both humbling and inspiring.
