• Seek joint projects with other groups and organizations where there are mutual interests

• Provide educational opportunities about the natural areas

• Create awareness of the history of OS Gray Natural Area

• Restore native grasses, trees, and other herbaceous species

• Remove invasive species

• Promote enjoyment of the outdoors in a natural setting

• Enhance the “nursery feel” of the nursery area

• Provide trails for access to the park in order to encourage wildlife, to maintain the integrity of the natural areas, and to discourage off-trail activities

• Seek public and private funds

• Plan and carry out regularly scheduled community days

Join us tomorrow (Saturday, 5/9) from 9am to noon as we plant over 100 native plants in the large garden at OS Gray Natural Area! The parks department worked hard to prep the area by removing weeds and previous plantings, tilling the soil, and adding compost and mulch. They’ve also installed several large boulders. Tomorrow morning they’ll deliver plants to fill the area. Once everything is planted there will be pathways through the garden for park visitors to enjoy. We can’t wait for you to see it!

Brrr! We hope our park friends are warm and cozy in this icy weather! A couple of our volunteers braved the elements to visit the O.S. Gray Natural Area this morning. It is beautiful and quiet, the animals hunkered down and the trees and plants covered in layers of ice and snow. Stay safe out there, friends! ❄️
