SOC provides human services assisting individuals and families in overcoming their various problems.

Our mission is to give youths and poor families greater opportunities for work and success by providing school supplies for orphan children and vocational training for adults. For the drug-addicted and abandoned children, we are providing treatment and relief services.

Relief Service in September 2026

In September 2026, as part of our Relief Service program, we provided financial assistance to six Afghan refugee families in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This support helped these families meet some of their essential needs and provided practical assistance during a difficult and uncertain time.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside these refugee families and offer support when they need it most. Even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference by helping families manage their daily expenses, provide for their families, and face challenging circumstances with greater stability and hope.

Our goal is not only to respond to immediate needs but also to continue developing and expanding the Relief Service program so that we can reach more refugee families and other people experiencing difficult circumstances.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who contributes to this work. Your generosity and support make it possible for us to continue serving people in need and bringing practical help, compassion, and hope to the community.

On September 16, we started a new Russian language course for 12 Afghan refugees in Bishkek-Kyrgyzstan. Russian is one of 2 national languages in this country, and the participants want to learn it to improve their communication and access to job opportunities.

Some of these refugees are temporarily staying in the country while they make plans to relocate to other European countries.

At their request, we organized a two-month Russian language course to help them develop the language skills they need in their daily lives.

We hope that, by the end of the course, the participants will be better able to address language-related challenges at hospitals, schools, markets, workplaces, and within the wider community.

In 2026, Source of Compassion relief services has provided financial assistance to Afghan refugee families and local Kyrgyz living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This support helped families cover a portion of their apartment rent, purchase essential groceries and medications, and meet other urgent household needs.

Many of the families we supported are facing extremely difficult circumstances. Some are single mothers caring for two to five children, widows, unemployed parents, or families with very limited opportunities to find work. For many refugee families, the lack of a work permit in the country where they are currently living creates an additional and significant challenge. Without stable employment or income, it can be very difficult for them to afford housing, food, medicine, and other basic necessities.

Our relief program is intended to provide practical support during these challenging times and help families maintain stability and dignity while they navigate an uncertain future. Even modest assistance can make a meaningful difference for a family struggling to pay rent, provide food for their children, or purchase needed medication.

We would like to continue providing assistance to these families and expand our support to reach more Afghan refugee families who are experiencing similar hardships. With continued support from generous donors, we hope to help more families meet their basic needs and feel that they are not facing these challenges alone.

We sincerely appreciate all of our donors, volunteers, and supporters for their kindness, compassion, and generosity. Your contributions make this relief work possible and directly impact the lives of families in need.

Today, September 14, 2026, at the Source of Compassion Hope Center in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, we started a new beginner-level English course.

Fourteen students, Kyrgyz and Afghan nationals from low-income families are participating in this two-month course. This is a charitable initiative aimed at providing meaningful educational opportunities to those who may not otherwise have access to them.

Soon, we will also have a higher-level English group starting.

THANKFUL THURSDAY!

In July 2026, we provided financial support to 11 children from Kyrgyz, Russian, and Afghan refugee communities.

Each month, these children receive assistance through the SOC branch office in Bishkek. The support helps cover essential needs such as school supplies and food.

When a child reaches the age of 18, they are able to begin working and become financially independent, allowing them to support themselves and assist their guardians.

To better understand each child’s living situation and well-being, our branch office administrator conducts a brief interview with every child each month.

From July 24 to 26, we organized a summer camp in the mountain area. The camp was successfully conducted according to the planned daily schedule and activities. Throughout the camp, from three nationalities (Kyrgyz, Afghans, Americans) participants enjoyed a memorable experience filled with learning, teamwork, and fun.

Everyone appreciated the delicious meals, comfortable accommodation, beautiful mountain scenery, and pleasant weather. These excellent conditions created a welcoming environment where participants could relax, participate actively, and build meaningful relationships.

The camp provided a wonderful opportunity for refugee families and young people from different backgrounds to meet new people, make new friends, and share their personal experiences and cultures with one another. Through group discussions, games, and team activities, participants strengthened their communication skills and learned the importance of cooperation and respect.

The three teams enthusiastically took part in various sports and recreational activities, including volleyball, farecbi, team games, traditional dances, songs, and singing together. These activities encouraged teamwork, friendship, and healthy competition while creating many joyful memories.

On July 27, the camp continued at the Hope Center. Each group presented what they had prepared, showcasing different aspects of their cultures and traditions. The presentations included cultural displays, and other performances representing each nationality. These presentations allowed everyone to appreciate the diversity of the participants while celebrating unity, mutual respect, and cultural exchange.

Overall, the summer camp was a great success. It provided participants with valuable opportunities to develop friendships, strengthen teamwork, learn from different cultures, and create lasting memories. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making the camp meaningful and enjoyable for all.

We had a 4 day introductory computer course at the SOC Hope center in Bishkek. This course provides basic computer training for low-income individuals, including using the internet, email, word processing, and online services. This introductory course will allow students to continue with a bit more intensive training when our summer team arrives in July. Our English courses are also continuing with eager learners filling our classroom.
