TBT:

Let’s take it back to 2006 the birth of the “me too” movement by survivor/advocate Tarana Burke. There goal was to provide resources, support, and and lead survivors towards pathways to healing. This is why we love this movement…it is everything we stand for and a guide we hope to follow, but it doesn’t stop there

in 2017 the movement took off like wildfire. Millions of survivors speaking up, sharing their stories, and refusing to be silenced and shame.

This movement opened the door and started the conversation, but our fight isn’t over. We still have work to do, our voices still matter, and we will NOT be silenced.

Today starts the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Please join us as we educate, speak up against, and celebrate those who are fighting for justice.

We may have been a victim, but as a community we become survivors!!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of showing our support at the 16th Annual South Dallas AIDS Walk.

Did you know? Survivors of sexual violence face a significantly higher risk of HIV infection. In fact, some studies show that victims of violence are 48% more likely to be infected.

We don’t walk just because it’s a great community event.
We walk because our solidarity goes beyond sexual assault.

At Speak Our Truth, we believe in standing with communities affected by trauma, stigma, and health disparities. When we show up, we show up for healing, awareness, and collective support. 🩵
