🧬 ZIGGY’S DNA RESULTS JUST DROPPED. And the group chat owes us NOTHING. 😂

Remember when we said our theories about these dogs needed scientific investigation?

Well, the group chat had two main guesses for Ziggy:
🐩 Poodle
🤍 Crusty white dog
PLEASE. 😭😂
And I mean... We were at least halfway right.

We used Embark DNA, and Ziggy came back:

🐩 51% Small Poodle
🧬 29% Supermutt
🐶 8.4% Cocker Spaniel
👑 8% Pekingese
🐕 3.5% German Shepherd

And that 29% Supermutt? Embark found traces of Maltese, Russell-type Terrier, Chihuahua, and Pit Bull Terrier.

SIR. THAT IS A ROSTER. 😂

The Poodle? Expected.
The Cocker Spaniel and Pekingese? Okay, sure, we see it.
The German Shepherd? Plot twist.
The Pit Bull Terrier hiding in the Supermutt mix? EXCUSE US, ZIGGY. 👀

And because apparently one mystery at a time is too easy, our vets STILL have differing opinions on how old this little man is. 💀

So we have his DNA, we have theories, and we still have questions.

Final verdict: 51% Poodle. 100% confusing little man. 😂

One mystery down, several more to go. Clarendon, you're on deck. 🧬👀

🧬 THE RESULTS ARE IN. AND… WE HAVE QUESTIONS. 😂

Remember when we told you we sent DNA tests for Logan, Ziggy, and Clarendon because we had theories?

Well.

MOMMA LOGAN’S RESULTS ARE BACK.

And nobody had this on their bingo card.

And Logan is…

🐩 Poodle
🐂 American Pit Bull Terrier
SUPERMUTT
🐕 German Shepherd
🦮 Golden Retriever
🐶 Cocker Spaniel

PLUS her Supermutt DNA includes:
🧬 Labrador Retriever
🧬 Pekingese
🧬 Chihuahua

EXCUSE US?!

This girl is 18 POUNDS.
EIGHTEEN. POUNDS.

Somewhere along the way, somebody apparently said, “Yes. All of them. Put them all in there.” 😂

We were expecting Poodle.

Maybe a little something unexpected.

But Bull Terrier + German Shepherd + Golden Retriever + Cocker Spaniel + Pekingese + Chihuahua + Labrador?!

Logan really said:
“Why choose a breed when I can choose a whole roster?” 😂

The DNA has spoken.

Logan is not a mystery mix. She is a GROUP PROJECT. 🧬😂

And we're still waiting on Ziggy and Clarendon…
So if you thought this reveal was chaotic, buckle up. 👀

WHO HAD ANY OF THESE BREEDS ON THEIR LOGAN BINGO CARD?!

Okay, y’all. We’re closing intake for the remainder of 2026.
No shelters. No strays. No breeders. No emergency intakes.

And yeah… that sucks.

But this year has absolutely kicked our butts.

281 dogs have come through NTASR this year. That includes 21 double merles, 18 heartworm positive dogs, multiple major medical cases, multiple litters born in rescue, and large scale cruelty intakes.

We’re spending $18,000–$25,000 every month on vetting alone.

Last month alone, 23 came in and 36 were adopted out.
And we still have 75 dogs in our care.

So we're pressing pause on intake because the dogs already here need us.

Some are healing. Some are finishing vetting. Some are in PT. Some are waiting for their forever family. Some just need a new foster setup.

We’re tired. The dogs still need us. And our fosters need some breathing room.

DFW, we need fresh foster homes.

PS - Fosters get first dibs on adopting their foster pup. Fostering is not only rewarding, but can be a great path to adoption too!

Remember Clifford and George?

Because we have a WHERE ARE THEY NOW?! update for two of our senior boys. 🥹
And apparently the answer is: living large. Very, very far from Texas.

Clifford ❤️
Clifford came to us from the Smith County cruelty case with flea dermatitis, painfully itchy skin, ear issues and a whole lot of healing ahead of him.

There were medicated baths. Skin treatments. Ear meds. A dental. Pajamas for his itchy skin.

And then there was Clifford being Clifford: the mohawk, the naps, the blankets, the grunts and the dramatic bedtime pouts.

This senior gentleman found his forever family... in New York.
So Clifford packed his bags and ROAD TRIPPED from Texas to New York. 🚗💨
From a Smith County hoarding case to his very own couch in New York.

And then there's George. 💛
Another senior who came into rescue after spending his life as a breeder dog.
George was easy. 😂
He showed up, decided humans were great, accepted his retirement package and waited for his person.
She found him.
And then she put him on a private plane.
Somehow, football star Johnny Manziel was also there and became so obsessed with George that he carried him off the plane.

Because of course he did.

Now, George lives in Beverly Hills.
He had a BEACH DAY last week. A beach day.

This senior Corgi is now living like an absolute celebrity and we're just happy to be included in the updates. 😂

We went coast to coast, baby. 🌊

Two senior dogs. Two very different rescue stories. Two wildly different journeys. And thanks to we were able to get all of their vetting covered without sweating *too much*.

And both are out there proving that senior doesn't mean the adventure is over.
Look at them now. ❤️

💙 ROWDY UPDATE

One week after being hit by a car, and we were afraid that her internal bleeding wouldn't stop. We are pleased to report that this little girl had surgery Wednesday morning (broken pelvis), and she is officially on the other side of it. 🥹

Dr. Michael Orencole was Rowdy’s surgeon, and he repaired her fractured pelvis with 1 plate and 6 pins.

Now comes the recovery part, and Rowdy is getting LOTS of love from her foster momma while she heals. ❤️ 8 weeks of slow movements (no running or jumping just yet!) and physical therapy are in store for this girly.

She has come SUCH a long way since being hit by a car last week. This is the good news everyone needed this week right?!

Keep those good thoughts coming for this sweet little girl. She’s got some healing to do, but she’s doing it surrounded by people who love her. 💙

So naturally, we sent DNA tests for:
Logan.
Ziggy.
Clarendon.

Because honestly... we have theories. 😂

Ziggy is some kind of Poodle situation.
Logan? 🤷‍♀️ Your guess is as good as ours.
Clarendon is at least part Corgi, just like her mama, but there may be some plot twists in there.

Now we wait.

🌙 Willow Skye, probably:

“I have no idea what you want.”
two minutes later
“Oh. THAT? Yeah, I know that.”
😂

Willow is around 3, shy with people, and currently operating on “I need a minute” time.

She LOVES other dogs, though. Like, really loves them. A confident dog friend helps her feel safe enough to relax and show off her actual personality: playful, curious, food-motivated, and apparently committed to collecting every toy in the house.

She's crate trained, doing great with her routines, and making progress with potty training. She'll need a fenced yard and a patient adopter who isn't expecting her to become a social butterfly overnight.

Basically, Willow doesn't need you to fix her.
She just needs you to let her figure YOU out. 🤍

And when she finally decides you're okay?
That “oh, THAT?” moment is going to hit different.
