The 82nd Anniversary of D-Day. Take a moment to recognize the terror that the allied forces faced and the bravery they showed, whether landing on the beach or being inserted behind enemy lines. To those who pushed to victory and came home and to those who are buried in Europe, you have our undying respect.

The Department of War and Scouting America finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on February 27, 2026. The agreement included a waiver of the National Scouting America $85 fee for youth members and the creation of a Military Service Merit Badge.
The fee waiver started June 1, 2026 and is available through online registration only.
For more information on how to find a unit in your area, go to “Be A Scout” and enter your zip code. Scouting America is for youth ages 5-17 and you can join a Scouts BSA Troop without being a Cub Scout.
Summer activities are starting.

Starting today, June 1!

Scouting America is expanding access to Scouting for military-connected youth by waiving the $85 national youth registration fee for eligible families. This program applies to youth members only and is available for both new and renewing online registrations.

The waiver covers only the national youth registration fee. Local council fees, unit dues, optional add-ons such as Scout Life magazine, and processing fees still apply.

To receive the waiver, families should select “Get Military Discount Code” during the online registration process, complete the verification steps, receive the verification code, and enter it at checkout.

The waiver is available only for online registrations.
