Let’s pray that the withdrawal from Iraq is well planned, executed and uneventful.

NEW: After more than two decades, the last U.S. troops are set to leave Iraq.

Officials confirm American forces will withdraw by Sept. 30, bringing the U.S. military presence that began with the 2003 invasion to an end.

Iraq's prime minister calls the deadline "fixed and final," declaring that Oct. 1 will mark a new chapter with the country "free of any foreign military presence."

The withdrawal follows a 2024 agreement between Washington and Baghdad to wind down the U.S.-led coalition's mission against ISIS as Iraqi forces take greater responsibility for the country's security.

For all those who have participated in the Partnership for Peace program with Croatia and would like to help the Minnesota Military and Veterans Museum with a display.

Croatians are coming to town, and we would like to build a Croatian/Minnesotan exhibit. Do you have any souvenirs, publications, documents, etc. to share? Croatian forces have partnered with the Minnesota National Guard for many years as part of the national State Partnership Program.

A sad day to see the old museum close up after so many years of supporting Minnesota history, but a happy day for the reason, a new facility that better showcases the rich military and veteran history of Minnesota. We are looking forward to the new facility opening September 12th.

Your old museum is now permanently closed. Progress continues on your new museum and library, which will open in September. The archive remains open daily by appointment. Details at www.MnVetMuseum.org.
