Established in 2002, the Twin Cities Chinese Dance Center (“TCCDC”) is a non-profit performing arts and educational organization founded with the goal of promoting the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture. Our activities are designed to preserve traditional Chinese genres of performing arts and nurture innovations that reflect the dynamic and diverse Chinese cultural heritage. Our pro

grams fuse contemporary performing arts with traditional Chinese performance styles. Our objective is to take audiences beyond cultural boundaries to where tradition meets innovation and creative freedom arises from discipline in the technical aspects of Chinese performing arts. Through teaching, performing Chinese traditional dance, and entering into competitive events, TCCDC has educated and inspired students and audiences for nearly a decade. TCCDC offers a comprehensive curriculum. We offer classes that focus on traditional Chinese dance movements and the historic cultural background of these movements. Chinese dance has its own unique vocabulary, meanings, and ordered structure that enables a dancer to fully express his or her thoughts and feelings with ease, grace and technical acumen. To reach this high level of performance, TCCDC students are trained by professional instructors that are also performers and therefore have a deep comprehension of both the technical and physical aspects of Chinese dance, as well as of the Chinese culture that is the basis for the dance steps. To satisfy broader interest of our students and parents, we also offer specially designed courses such as Latin, ballet, and Chinese martial arts.

🎉 TCCDC 2026 Year of the Horse Gala Performance! 🎊

As we welcome the spirited Year of the Horse, we bid farewell to the past year with dynamic rhythms, expressive movement, and joyous celebration. To mark this festive occasion, the Twin Cities Chinese Dance Center (TCCDC) proudly presents its 2026 Chinese New Year gala performance “Songs of the Miao Ridge”, a vibrant dance production inspired by the rich cultures of China’s southwest.

The performances will take place on January 31 and February 1, 2026, at the Minnesota Masonic Heritage Center · Ives Theater.

In celebration of the Year of the Horse, TCCDC Artistic Director Jingwen Sun has thoughtfully curated this large-scale dance production for the Minnesota community. The program features a diverse range of performances, including Chinese classical dance, ethnic and folk dances, and ethnic songs, alongside Latin dance, tap dance, and K-pop. Audiences will experience the distinctive beauty of dances inspired by Yi, Dai, Han, Miao, and Dunhuang traditions, highlighting both the depth of Chinese cultural heritage and its contemporary artistic expression.

Through powerful movement and evocative staging, the performers bring to life a dynamic dialogue between Eastern tradition and Western stage aesthetics. The participation of professional and community artists adds energy, color, and brilliance to this festive celebration.

We warmly invite you, your family, and your friends to join us in celebrating the Chinese New Year and the arrival of the Year of the Horse with music, dance, and joy!
