We’re hiring! 🌱

The North Coast Growers’ Association is looking for a Communications Coordinator to help tell the story of local food, regional agriculture, and the people who make our food system thrive.

This role will lead storytelling, content creation, social media, digital campaigns, and community engagement efforts across NCGA programs and the North Coast Food System Network. From farmers’ markets and food access and fundraising campaigns, this position plays a key role in connecting our community to the work we do every day.

We’re looking for someone creative, collaborative, organized, and passionate about food systems, agriculture, and community impact.

Big news!

Starting April 25, WIC recipients can now receive a $20 Market Match when using their benefits at NCGA farmers’ markets! That means more access to fresh fruits and vegetables grown right here in Humboldt County.

Using WIC at the market is simple. You can shop directly with WIC-authorized farmers using your card (it must have a QR code!), simply look for the signs posted at booths that say “WIC and Senior Benefits Welcome.” Then stop by the Market Info Booth to receive your Market Match in vouchers to spend on fruits, vegetables, and food-producing plants. If you do not have the QR code on your card, you can contact your local WIC office to get it updated.

Available at markets in Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna, McKinleyville, and Garberville.

The sun is shining, vibes are high, and it’s a perfect weekend to get started on your garden!

The Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market is full of garden starts, dahlia tubers, medicinal varieties, and ornamentals right now. Our vendors are a wealth of knowledge if you ever have a question about what to plant in your climate, need to troubleshoot a pest, or want to geek out on unique varietals.

If you’re working on your garden this weekend, let us know what you’re planting in the comments!

We have live music by from 10:30am-1:30pm, so bring your picnic blanket, reusable shopping bags and we’ll see you at the farmers’ market!

Calling all Chefs! Are you interested in more local food on your menu? Do you want easy delivery? 

We are hosting a Harvest Hub Happy Hour at Alchemy Distillery on May 18th. NCGA staff will be present to give updates about the Harvest Hub, answer any questions you have, help you register for an account and place your first order.

There is an abundance of local spring crops coming up like artichokes, asparagus, spring mix, scallions, and snap peas that all deserve to be on your menus!

Today is the LAST day of our Winter Hours for the Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market!

That means that Spring is officially here and next week we shift back to our Main Season hours. Starting April 4th the Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market opens at 9am and live music will return every Saturday.

There is an abundance of food at market and we hope to see you all next Saturday to kick off the start of another season!

We gladly accept CalFresh, WIC, & Market Match. Stop by the Market Info Booth to learn more.

Plants galore! Our green thumbs have been itching to get back in the garden.

The farmers market is full of plant starts right now. Veggies, flowers, herbs, ornamentals, cool climate and hot weather varietals, everything you need! It’s the perfect time to get a head start on your garden.

We are also so excited for the main season Arcata Farmers’ Market to start in just 2 weeks, on April 4th! We hope to see you every Saturday for the freshest, local food around.
