Spooky Hooky is next Friday.

Ho**ahs, ci**rs, and a grill full of hot dogs and burgers at the Arcadia Masonic Center. 6 to 10 p.m.

Open to everybody. Bring the family, bring a friend, bring the dog.

Burgers, hot dogs and non-alcoholic drinks are on us.

If you have been meaning to come by the building, this is the easy night. No suit. No quiz at the door. Just good company and a little Halloween.

We have been talking about them one at a time. The compass last week. The square the week before.

Today they sit together, which is how they were always meant to be.

The square is the force that faces outward. It asks how you deal with the man across from you. Honesty. Fair measure. No hidden edge. You cannot be square with yourself and crooked with him. The tool will not allow it.

The compasses are the force that faces inward. They draw a circle and say: stay inside it. Desire has a bound. Passion has a bound. Ambition has a bound. A man without a circle is not free. He is just unfinished.

One without the other is half a life. A man who is honest with everyone else and has no rule for himself will eventually sell the honesty.

A man who keeps a perfect circle and has no care for the brother beside him is only tidy.

The Craft does not ask us to choose. It puts the two tools in the same hand.

That is the quiet work. Not to be perfect.

To notice, on any given day, which force has gone quiet.

The square you forgot when it was convenient. The circle you stepped outside because no one was looking.

Then to put them back together before the day ends.

Two forces. One man. That is the whole of it.

Arcadia is on the road!! 🚗🛩️
Today we leave for San Francisco to attend and participate in the 177th Annual Communication of the Masons of California at the Grand Lodge of Masons of California! 😎
We are looking forward to good leadership, sound legislation, and the best part of this weekend is sitting with brothers we already know, and meeting a few we do not.
We will bring back all that is useful to 50 W. Duarte Road!🦚
Safe travels to every brother headed north. If you see Arcadia in the hall, come say hello.

We sit tonight.

Dinner @ 7. Meeting @ 8, sharp.

Bring a brother, a friend, or the family. The table is the easy part; good food, good company, no quiz at the door. After dinner the lodge opens for our monthly meeting and a little Masonic education.
