Today we remember 9/11, those that gave the ultimate sacrifice and those that gave everything they had to help others.
As members of PJ’s Pals we remember our own Sally & Charlie Brugnola and their therapy dogs Jackson and Sweetheart, that went to Ground Zero to bring Comfort and Love as only a therapy dog team can do. We will never forget!

On International Day of Charity, we celebrate our Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) teams who generously volunteer their time and hearts to serve others.

Every visit to a hospital, school, nursing home, library, airport, or community organization is an act of charity. Through the simple presence of their therapy dogs, our volunteers help reduce stress, provide comfort, encourage connection, and bring smiles and joy to those who need it most.

As a nonprofit organization, ATD relies on the support of our Members and donors to help us continue certifying, insuring, and supporting therapy dog teams across the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories.

If therapy dogs have touched your life or your community, please consider making a donation to help our teams continue bringing smiles and joy to the many facilities and people they visit.

We say Goodbye to Dolly Parton, today. She was such a big supporter of helping get books into children’s hands, a cause we believe in. Read a book with a child to honor Dolly and her memory.

Meet MacKenzie

She is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever who enjoys every day of her life! She loves visiting the residents at our local Senior living centers, listens diligently as the children read to her at the Library, and gives comfort to anyone who needs a hug. MacKenzie competes in Dog Agility, Scent Work, Dock Diving and for a full year she was the "Fastest Golden Retriever in the Nation" in Fast Cat! At home she loves swimming in her pool and running with her 'Mom'. Evenings you will find her cuddled up on the couch, dreaming of chasing the lizards in the backyard!
Mom Christie added:
This girl brings me such joy and makes me smile and I thank God every day for this special gift with four paws.
