Spotlight on Evan Perez🌟Reading Program Tutor 🌟
We are proud to feature Evan Perez, one of the dedicated leaders in our Reading Program. Evan brings passion, knowledge, and heart to every session,helping our students grow in fluency, comprehension, and confidence.
Here’s how the program works: students read short passages aloud to strengthen fluency, then work with Evan to answer questions that build comprehension. To keep things engaging, each week’s reading highlights fascinating AI-related topics from healthcare innovations to even dinosaur replication! 🦕🤖
To wrap up, students use NotebookLM, an AI tool that works only from the sources you provide. This makes it a safe and effective learning tool, encouraging critical thinking and reflection instead of shortcuts.
Beyond the tutoring center, Evan also serves with Antioch Animal Services and the Food Bank of Contra Costa, showing his deep commitment to the community. Currently, he is a Psychology major at UC Berkeley, where professors encourage students to use tools like NotebookLM to deepen understanding.
