Island sunrise, salt on my skin, coffee not yet kicked in — best way to start a day. Out in the Gulf with dolphins and the light just right. Such an incredible gift. Heading back out at low tide in 2 hours to teach an 11-year-old how to dive for sand dollars a lil' bit beyond the sandbar.

AMI morning swim - let's get salty!

I swam in a stormy, yellow-flag Gulf, drifting, diving under the surf and swell for sand dollars — an hour dissolved into pure bliss and contentment. I drove home slow with the top down to let it linger. Now I'm carrying that peace with me — sticky, salty, clinging like sand to skin — I'm so grateful for it even as I know it won't stay.
