While Ron was spraying, Val pulled up some Virginia Creeper that had roots attached to large stones. 😳

Tony Durano, president of the Andover Rotary, invited Redbuddy Craig to talk about AARTI at their meeting last Thursday.

The presentation included information about AARTI as a nonprofit entity - history and involvement of AARTI in the development of the 'Bud. Current status, future plans, and funding of the project to complete the Redbud Trail to Augusta were also covered.

Nice to spread the word of this valuable project that will connect people and communities in a safe, outdoor linear park!

In this weather, you get sweaty fast so we worked fast on the 0.6 mile south of the 54/400 bridge.

Thanks to Redbuddies Jon, Val, Jim, Ruth, Chad, Tim, Kjel, Ron, Mike, and Craig!

It's funny how one can look at the "before" and think, "Well, there's not too much to trim." This is always a hallucination! We probably generated 3 dump trailers worth of cuttings.

Watch this space as we’re considering a pile pickup outing in a couple of weeks.

We're trimming and stacking on 0.6 mile south of the 54/400 bridge to Santa Fe Lake Rd.

Trail access granted* by way of the APAC plant, eastbound on 54/400, just west of Santa Fe Lake Rd.

Right turn in. Yield to trucks.
Turn right and stay on the road. Pull to the hedgerow to the west. You should see a car or three.
You can enter the trail from a break in the tree line.

This will be cut-and-stack. We'll pick it up in September.
This should go quickly. If so, we might do a little trimming on the east side of SFL Rd., but that project to clear the next mile will begin Sept. 12.

As always, wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Bring gloves, water, and pruners if you have them. If not, we have some.
Insect repellent is a good idea. Like pruners, we have some. See less
