You may have seen the Combat Ministries Golf Scramble Fundraiser is coming up on September 19. You may know that we offer martial arts classes, you may even know that we have art classes. But, do you know who Combat Ministries is? Do you know what we do and why we do it?
The heart of Combat Ministries (the “why” we do what we do) is to provide safe spaces and programs to help develop healthy leaders and families; to help people of all ages become the best version of themselves.
What is a healthy leader? Someone who encourages and inspires others with confidence through love, kindness and hope. Someone who calls out the goodness in others and strives to live a life of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. These are the principles of Combat Ministries.
How do people become the best versions of themselves? Through community and connection. We can only be our best when we know we are not alone.
Now, onto the “what” we do.
The Mission of Combat Ministries is to Provide Safe and Compassionate Environments that Engage, Educate, and Equip Leaders to Inspire Positive Changes in their Communities.
Those environments take the shape of our multiple programs on campus. Our campus, which functions much like a community center, is called The Center. The Center is the location of many of our programs.
We have programs like Freedom Martial Arts & Fitness, which offer support, discipline, routine, healthy bodies and minds (just to name a few benefits) https://www.combatministries.org/freedommartialarts ; Creative Studio Art Classes for youth and adults, including a free open studio for the community https://www.combatministries.org/creative-arts ; The Recovery Room which offers services such as massage, chiropractic, counseling, personal training and sports therapy https://www.combatministries.org/recoveryroom ; The Hive which is a free program for those facing a cancer diagnosis or in remission https://www.combatministries.org/thehive ; Battlegrounds: free faith-based programs that range from Saturday Fitness classes to The Forge, a Men’s Leadership Bootcamp https://www.combatministries.org/battlegrounds ; CORE Fridays which offer a space for ages 7-17 to have fun safely on a Friday night, and even community events such as Financial Wellness courses and our annual Trunk or Treat. https://www.combatministries.org/upcomingevents
Combat Ministries is a non-profit organization. This means that we rely heavily on the gifts and talents of our Community Partners, Ministry Partners, Donors and Fundraisers like the Golf Scramble to keep program costs low and available.
If you are still with me through this book-like post, could I ask you to help us out? Would you please share our Golf Scramble Event, Sign-up to participate, Get a team together, or even consider being a sponsor?
Thank you all for following along! Thank you for being a part of our community, you are appreciated!
