This Memorial Day, Achaksah Nation’s First Volunteers, Subria and Johnny, spent the day giving back by serving and feeding some of our most vulnerable neighbors downtown in San Antonio. 🇺🇸❤️

As we honor the heroes who sacrificed for our freedom, we’re reminded that service to others is one of the greatest ways to show gratitude. Every meal shared, every conversation had, and every act of kindness strengthens our community and reflects the spirit of service that defines Achaksah Nation.

Across nations and generations, Indigenous peoples have served with courage, sacrifice, discipline, and honor in militaries around the world. Many have defended not only their countries, but also truth, integrity, and the people they swore to protect — even when facing corruption, abuse of power, misconduct, or institutional failure within the systems around them.

Too often, service members and veterans who speak out against wrongdoing, protect civilians, expose corruption, or refuse unlawful or unethical conduct face retaliation, intimidation, isolation, loss of career opportunities, or abandonment for choosing integrity over silence.

This declaration calls for stronger international protections, accountability systems, legal safeguards, mental health support, and public recognition for military personnel, veterans, and whistleblowers who uphold ethical duty and human dignity in the face of corruption or systemic failure.
