🚧 UPDATED ROAD PAVING INFORMATION 🚧

Due to a shortage of paving material, crews were unable to complete today’s scheduled work and stopped approximately two-thirds of the way through the current section.

Friday, July 31: Crews plan to finish paving the current section up to Old Seward and then work on the parking area near the boat launch.

At this time, we expect to have access into and out of camp tomorrow. Crews do not believe they will reach our camp entrance, but if they do, it would likely be later in the afternoon and access may be temporarily affected.

If they are unable to pave our entrance tomorrow, that work will be rescheduled for Monday, August 3.

Roy will receive another update in the morning, and we will share any new information as soon as it becomes available.

Unfortunately, we need to address an issue that should never be happening in our camp.

Over the past two weeks, a significant amount of toilet paper and paper towels has been taken from the camp’s storage closet. These supplies are purchased with Association funds and are intended for use in our shared facilities—not for personal use or removal from the property.

It is extremely disappointing that we cannot simply trust everyone to respect Association property and the resources provided for the benefit of all members. Because of the actions of a few individuals, we will now need to secure the storage areas and consider installing cameras.

Please do not enter Association storage areas or remove any supplies. We should not have to lock everything up, but unfortunately, the lack of integrity being demonstrated has left us with little choice.

🚧 IMPORTANT ROAD PAVING & CAMP ACCESS UPDATE 🚧

Road paving begins this week near the Silver King Camp entrance. Please review the schedule carefully and plan ahead:

Wednesday, July 29: Crews will be paving the south side of the road—our side—beginning at the boat launch. There will be no access to or from camp from approximately 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., possibly longer.

Thursday, July 30: Crews will be paving the opposite side of the road. We will have access to and from camp, but members should expect potentially long delays from flaggers.

Friday, July 31: Crews will be paving our camp entryway. There will be no vehicle access into or out of camp from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 6:00 p.m.

Anyone who needs to leave camp on Friday should move their vehicle before 8:00 a.m., park across the street, and walk out to their vehicle.

Please plan ahead for work, appointments, deliveries, guests, and other travel needs. The schedule may change due to weather or construction progress, and we will share any updates as they become available.

Annual Membership Meeting Follow-Up & Presentation Video

Please make sure your volume is turned up when watching the attached presentation video, as it includes voice-over narration walking through the 2026 State of the Association Report.

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in yesterday’s Annual Membership Meeting. The meeting was a huge success, and we are grateful for the thoughtful participation, respectful discussion, and strong support from the membership.

Members present voted unanimously to affirm the current seven members of the Board of Directors:

A sincere thank you to each of our Board members for the time, work, and preparation that went into putting this meeting together. There has been a tremendous amount of effort behind the scenes, and this meeting reflected that commitment to transparency, organization, and the future of Silver King Camp.

We also want to thank everyone who helped make the meal such a wonderful part of the day. Special thanks to:

Jim Jones for smoking the ribs
Brandon Gasper for the jambalaya
Kord Cernich for the grilled salmon and deep-fried halibut
And all of the members who brought side dishes, desserts, and other contributions to share

The food, fellowship, and participation helped make the day feel like what Silver King Camp is truly about: community, tradition, and working together.

Thank you again to everyone who attended, contributed, voted, asked questions, and supported the work being done. We are excited to keep moving forward together.

🇺🇸 Friendly Reminder — Our Annual Member Meeting is this Saturday, July 4th! 🇺🇸

We’re looking forward to gathering together as a camp community for good food, great company, and important updates for Silver King Camp Association.

🍽️ Potluck Lunch: 12:00 – 2:30 PM
Members and families are welcome! Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share. To help us have everything ready when the meal begins, please bring your dish to the Roundhouse no later than 11:45 AM.

🏕️ Annual Member Meeting: 3:00 PM
Following lunch, we’ll move into the annual meeting to share updates, review important camp business, answer questions, and discuss the future of our camp.

We hope you’ll join us for both the food and the meeting — your presence, participation, and voice matter.

We received 37 responses, representing approximately 42% of our membership—an outstanding level of participation that provided the Board with valuable insight into what matters most to our community.

🥞 What a Wonderful Morning at the Roundhouse! 🥞

Our very first Pancake Breakfast of the season was a huge success!

More than 25 members and guests joined us this past Saturday for delicious food, great conversation, and a wonderful time together.

Seeing the Roundhouse filled with smiling faces was exactly what these community gatherings are all about.

A very special THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this morning possible:

🥞 Jim Jones for cooking up batch after batch of amazingly fluffy, delicious pancakes!

🫐 Velma Gotcher for sharing her incredible homemade Haskap sauce—it was absolutely indulgent and a huge hit!

🫐 Jay Wright for bringing the fresh blueberries that paired perfectly with the pancakes.

🍊 Angela Gasper for providing the orange juice.

👏 Dianne Jones and Brandon Gasper for helping with the setup and cleanup and making everything run so smoothly.

Most of all... thank you to everyone who came! Whether you stayed for five minutes or an hour, visited with old friends, met someone new, played a game, or simply enjoyed breakfast together, you helped make this such a fun community event.

📅 There will NOT be a Pancake Breakfast next Saturday (July 4) because we'll all be busy preparing for and attending our Annual Membership Meeting.

🥞 We'll be back the following Saturday, and we hope you'll join us again!

As we continue these breakfasts throughout the summer, we'd love your feedback. Is there something you'd like to see? Anything we can do better? Please let us know—we're always looking for ways to make these mornings even more enjoyable for everyone.
