We had a great s'mores outing! We started with a hike and picked up lots of trash. We also had a lot of fun watching out...

We had a great s'mores outing! We started with a hike and picked up lots of trash. We also had a lot of fun watching out webmaster (me) dive into the sound to get trash that the wind blew off of our table..... and two new trail names were created

Mr. Ott - Bun Man
- was in charge of hotdog buns
Catherine - Soggy Socks
- no hesitation to swim to the fly-away trash.

We also gave a small child their first ever s'more (pictures not included)

Just this Saturday, our troop went to Greenacres Memorial Cemetery to help Troop 4005, VFW Post 1585, Ladies Aux, and Daughters of the American Revoloution cleanup the veterans memorial garden site. We helped spread bark mulch, plant flowers, and cleaned up the pavillion and memorial stones.

On April 26th our Scouts had the opportunity to work on the climbing merit badge. They went to a climbing center in Burlington and learned belaying, rappelling, and rope coiling. One scout noted in particular that "The self-rappelling was kinda scary but also really fun to be able to do it without a partner."

In Scouts, we start by learning and we end by giving back and building the future leaders That goes for the adults too. Here, we have three 4084 Scouters learning how to be there very best leaders possible, and two giving back some of the learning they already had received. That is the scouting way. For the three Scouters learning, they are also finding out that WoodBadge.Training is every bit as fun and intense and incredible as they were told. For our two that are staffing and teaching, they are learning that there was still more to learn. Your scouts deserve the best trained leadership, and we are committed to providing.
