🚨 New Rescue: Oliver 🚨

We were contacted by several people, including animal control themselves, alerting us about a pig named Oliver who was left at Chicago Animal Care and Control last week.

He was left with a note detailing his personality and his favorite things. Apparently, he was kept as a family pet for the first few months of this life..

We aren't sure why the family decided to discard of him at animal control. All we know is that this 4 month old baby was left in a place not set up to handled pigs. He needed out immediately!

Thankfully, one of our foster partners had an available space and was willing to pick Oliver up over the weekend!

This baby is a Idaho Pasture Pig. This means he is a blend of 3 breeds: kunekune, Duroc, and Old Berkshire. (Though he sure does look like a pure kunekune)!
IPP pigs grow up to 450 pounds. So this sweet boy will need to find a home with a barn and large pasture space!

Maple and her new sister enjoying some grazing!

Did you know that pig tails act in the same way dog tails do? They wag their tails when they are happy and tuck their tails when they are scared!

It's safe to say Maple is one happy pig! Look at that tail wagging! 🐷🥰

Petunia finally at her forever home at Starfish Acres Sanctuary and Rescue ❤️

New Rescue: Petunia ❤️

Petunia was saved from being slaughtered by a good samaritan named Jennifer.
Jennifer saved Petunia from a local farm and offered her temporary shelter while CPR networked her a home.

This act of kindness truly saved Petunia's life.
What took a couple of months out of Jennifer's life will mean that Petunia will get to live her ENTIRE 15-year life knowing love and kindness.
Jennifer made a miracle happen for Petunia.

We hope it is a reminder to everyone that every single person has the ability to make miracles happen in the lives of animals.

Maybe you foster from your local dog and cat shelter, maybe you volunteer with a rescue organization who desperately needs support, maybe you take a sick squirrel to your local wildlife rehabber, maybe you move worms back into the grass after it rains..

Every act of kindness means making a miracle happen for these animals.
You have that power.
How will you use it?
Share your answers below!!

❤️ We would like to thank Jennifer for saving Petunia's life. We would also like to thank Maureen for making the 12.5 hour drive yesterday to transport Petunia (pictured above). And we would like to thank Starfish Acres Sanctuary and Rescue for offering Petunia an amazing forever home!!

If you would like to pitch in a couple of dollars to help us cover the gas money for the 12.5 hour drive, please send to our venmo or paypal.

Maple update! ❤️

Maple has been settling in at her new forever home so seamlessly! This transition is exactly what we hope for every time we place a pig in a new home.
Maple's days are filled with fresh air, new friends, green pastures, and bonding with her new forever mama!

And the best news of all is that Maple has started choosing to sleep indoors! Her forever family is totally on board. They are more than happy to welcome her to the comforts of being a house pig with all the perks of farm life! 💕

Thank you to everyone who worked on Maple's case with us or donated towards her vet bills. This video is for you! ❤️❤️
