Today, we held a Shopping With a Cop event at Meijer. We had 45 kids from Alliance Elementary schools in attendance. They got a charter bus ride with a full police es**rt across town to feel like little rockstars for the day. All the kids were given the opportunity to get an outfit, socks and shoes, a jacket, and a toy. Some of them made some additional choices. Afterwards, the kids loaded back onto the bus to get a police es**rt across town again to go bowling and have a pizza party with a surprise visit from Santa himself. To say that they had a blast is an understatement. I cannot thank the donors and volunteers enough! Without the generous donations from local businesses and community members, this would not have been possible. Huge thank you to Alliance City Schools for selecting the students and participating in getting the students a field trip day so they are not penalized for missing school. I'm looking forward to expanding on this event next year.

This little guy came out today to see if any of us needed some popcorn on behalf of Boy Scout troop 50!! We were able to help him out in his cause.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out today and donated. Your generosity means the world!

Here is a breakdown of today’s contributions:

• A total of $514 was donated.
• $250 was spent on additional supplies.
• An additional $250 donation from the City of Alliance Fire Department will be combined with the remaining $264 to purchase even more school supplies.

I also want to express sincere gratitude to Mel’s Towing for their major contribution today.
And a huge thank you to Walmart Alliance for partnering with us and making a generous donation as well!
