Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educat

ed women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development,

Get ready for an unforgettable evening at Democracy and Derby! Join the Ahoskie Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for an event filled with dinner, drinks, dancing, great music, and the opportunity to fellowship with some of the community’s finest. This is the event of the summer, and you do not want to miss it! Put on your derby hats, dress to impress, and come ready to have a blast at Quinton’s on June 20, 2026, from 4 PM until 8 PM. Congratulations to Zion Brooks, who was crowned Mr. Jabberwock 2026 by the Ahoskie Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.!

At the beginning of this journey, Zion may have been a little shy, but through the Jabberwock experience, we watched him grow, step outside of his comfort zone, and truly come into his own. His confidence blossomed, and he showed us that growth happens when you are willing to trust the process.

What an unforgettable evening at Jabberwock 2026: A Night of Diamonds and Dreams! Congratulations to all our participants, who made the evening a celebration of confidence, excellence, and achievement. We proudly congratulate Zion Brooks, who was crowned Mr. Jabberwock 2026, with Anaston Lassiter named 1st Runner-Up and McKaylah Wilson named 2nd Runner-Up. Additional honors included Miss Poise and Elegance; 1st Place, Anaston Lassiter; 2nd Place, McKaylah Wilson; and 3rd Place, Trayonna Askew. Highest GPA and Miss Congeniality went to Courtney Sexton. Best Talent 1st Place went to McKaylah Wilson, 2nd Place to Kaleigh Watson, and 3rd Place to Anaston Lassiter. Scrapbook Competition winners: 1st Place, Trayonna Askew; 2nd Place, McKaylah Wilson; and 3rd Place, Anaston Lassiter. Thank you to everyone who supported and helped make this event a success.

Today, we pause to honor a true trailblazer, mentor, and living legacy — Soror Martha Thompson.

Although her 50th Golden Anniversary was never formally recognized, we could not allow her incredible journey and impact to go unnoticed. Today, we proudly pay homage to a woman whose life has been rooted in sisterhood, service, scholarship, and strength for an extraordinary 72 years as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Soror Thompson was initiated on December 12, 1953, through the Alpha Lambda Chapter. She has witnessed generations come and go, yet her grace, wisdom, and commitment have remained constant. Because of women like her, the path has been made clearer and stronger for the sorors who serve today. We honor you. We thank you. We celebrate you.
