Dear Heavenly Father, Your Word tells us, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."... So, on this Memorial Day, we remember the men and women that did lay down their lives for all of us, to keep us safe and to protect the freedoms we hold dear. We ask You God, to lift up the people today who lost loved ones in service for our country, bless them today, and everyday, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

We, (Faith in Action) have been helping local families for over 32 years now. Thanks to all of you!

"You" are....Our staff, our volunteers (at the food pantry and at the thrift store), the churches that support us financially, the churches that provide food donations, the churches that send volunteers to help work the food pantry, businesses and individuals that support us with financial contributions and the ones that donate food, the folks that donate items to our thrift store and the all the customers that shop at our thrift store, and the folks that need our services and come to pick up food each month. We love all of you and we appreciate you all so very much.

Thanks to you, over 700 families get free food each month...

Thanks to you, over 300 local families receive free clothing each month...

Thanks to you, over 100 people per year get free medical care through Crossroads Medical Mission here at Faith in Action...

Thanks to you, we provide more than 10,000 dollars per month in crisis financial assistance to Washington county residents...

Thanks to you, local mothers can get free diapers and wipes...

Thanks to you, pet owners can receive free cat and dog food...

Thanks to you, people can get walkers, wheelchairs, and various other similar items at no charge when they desperately need them...

Thanks to you, thousands of individuals are being helped in some way every month because of what you do (and have done) for this ministry...

So today, we want to thank God for every single person that has ever been a part of our team/family.

We could not do what we do without you ALL.

PLEASE HELP PACK 20 HELP OTHERS!! SCOUTING FOR FOOD MONTH IS HERE. START GETTING THOSE NON-PERISHABLE ITEMS READY. ALL DONATIONS WILL GO TO Abingdon Faith in Action.

We will be posting drop off points or please contact us! We will try to meet you to pick it up!!

Here are some ways to help Scouts
fill the shelves of local food banks:

Donate non-perishable or shelf stable items like canned soup, meats, stews, fruits, vegetables, and milk.
Avoid donating things like perishable foods, frozen foods, glass containers, and home-canned items.
You can take donations to one of our drop-off locations around the region during Scouting Anniversary Week. You can also drop off donations at the Sequoyah Council Service Center.
Food Banks are always in need of items that are difficult to collect like milk, fresh produce, meat, and bread. You CAN help get these items to families in need by making a monetary donation. Cash donations allow food banks to buy perishables in bulk (for added savings and more product) and distribute them where the need is greatest
