Trail Life USA is a Christian Outdoor Adventure, Character, and Leadership Program for Boys.

Our Troop’s final meeting of the program year was a Court of Honor. The Trailmen received numerous awards that they had earned over the last several months. We’ll have a couple of fun summer activities and then get back together for regular meetings in mid to late August. Come join the adventure!

Our Troop Hit the Trail at Interstate Bowl on Thursday night. This helps take care of the Sports and Fitness Branch. We made some real pin pals. 😉 Come join the Adventure!

At our Troop meeting last Thursday night, our Woodland Trails Trailmen worked on the Sports and Fitness Branch. Our Navigators and Adventurers prepared and demonstrated a flag retirement ceremony for their Our Flag Trail Badge. Come join the adventure!

Our Troop just hosted the Trail Life USA National Campout Weekend for the Over Mountain Area at beautiful Hungry Mother State Park near Marion, Virginia. There was an emergency open air fire ban in effect due to dry conditions that included the use of charcoal, but the approximately 100 Trailmen, adult leaders and guests made the most of it. And since we were camping, it rained! Activities included archery, our flag, tug-o-war and geocaching. Everyone had a great time, and every Troop is looking forward to their next outing. Our Troop meeting Thursday night involved picking up trash at the Department of Transportation’s Park-n-Ride at Exit 14 on I-81. Doing community service like this gives the boys a much better understanding of the litter problem we have in our society. Come join the adventure (it’s now a little cleaner)!!

Our Troop had a great time at the annual Valley Forge campout at Camp Placid, near Blountville, Tennessee last weekend. Activities for our Trailmen on Saturday included tomahawk throwing, fire building, slingshot, BB gun and disc golf! They even learned how to march! Come join the adventure!

Our Troop had a Lego Brick Derby race last Thursday night with numerous winners for both speed and creativity. It was a nice change from the traditional Pinewood Derby. Come join the adventure!

We held our last Troop meeting of the year on Thursday night and celebrated the holidays with a great meal. Our boys also wrapped gifts for some elderly homebound members of the Abingdon church of Christ. We hope to see everyone back on the trail after the holiday break. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
