Throwback to last Wednesday where the SPE UWI STA Student Chapter participated in the Engineering Expo spearheaded by UWI’s Engineering Students’ Society!! ⚙️ .uwi.sta

At the Expo we were not only able to inform students on what SPE actually is and the perks of becoming a member (there’s a lot, sign up today! 😋) but also engage in some educational discussions with students on energy transition, job security and geopolitics. What a day! 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 (Membership is free to all student members)

We also had the privilege to host the Trinidad and Tobago’s section, Director of Continuing Edication, Mr. Shaquille Rawlins and a guest from T&T’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, which many students had engaging conversations and slight banter with 🥸👍

After learning more about SPE, we also had some merchandise from students up for grabs (Peep our really cool spin the wheel game)

It really was a pleasure to have so many faces stop by the booth, thank you to all that made this event a success for the SPE team. 💙🛢️

The SPE UWI STA Student Chapter would like to extend a very Happy International Women’s Day to everyone! 💐

Today we celebrate the strength, brilliance, and impact of the women in our lives. 🤩 We also take a moment to recognize the growing presence of women in engineering and geoscience who continue to break barriers, push boundaries, and redefine what leadership and innovation look like in our fields.

This day reminds us that real progress happens when diverse voices are empowered and when the next generation of women engineers, scientists, and leaders are encouraged to dream boldly and pursue their ambitions.

Here’s to the women who inspire, lead, and pave the way for the future. Happy Women’s Day! 🥳💓

This past Wednesday, the SPE UWI Student Chapter hosted a small celebration to acknowledge World Engineering Day!👷🏽⚙️

To commemorate the day we had everyone write attributes that they’ve gained or started building towards since becoming an engineering student. (Yes other than becoming a coffee addict and gaining a whole lot of eyebags) 😅🥲

We also played some fun games like our very own peTrivia and Pictionary 😮‍💨 where some of our year ones and year twos took the turns dominating the floor.

While the event took a more laidback turn, we wanted to highlight the day dedicated to those that are on their way to becoming innovators, the future problem solvers and builders or our community. Here’s to all our engineers and engineers in training!! 🥳👏

What a day it was at our Bamboo Cathedral Hike 2025 🌿🥾 From the first step under the towering bamboo to the last laugh along the trail, it was all about teamwork, good vibes, and unforgettable memories.

We powered through every turn, dodged a few roots, spotted monkeys 🐒, shared snacks, and enjoyed every bit of the journey. It was the kind of day that reminded us how great things happen when you mix adventure with amazing company. 💚

Big thank you to our friends at SPE UTT for collaborating with us and bringing the energy! Couldn’t have asked for a better group to take on the trail with.

Here’s to more adventures, more collaboration, and more moments that remind us why the journey’s always worth it. 💪✨
