🗣️Facilitating green initiatives and environmental advocacy across sectors on our island, the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme - TRWRP continues to be a standard bearer in this regard through the Tobago Eco-Stewardship Programme.

🟢The importance of food security and the establishment of farm to table operations at the Tropikist Beach Hotel Limited in the TTT Live Online feature “Keeping it Green” is stressed upon as we grow and expand the programme to include even more tourism businesses.

🟢Key to operations are partnership arrangements for inspection and consistent technical direction and guidance from the Division of Food Security and Environment Tobago

🟢Another key component of this participatory and partnership driven programme is the assignment of students from the environmental club of the Signal Hill Secondary School to the inspection and monitoring exercises that occur at the hotel’s premises.

🗣️Our cadre of workers assigned temporarily to the Bon Accord Four Roads / Gibson's Jetty area continues to make positive progress as the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme - TRWRP is always committed to providing the necessary support for the Division of Environment, Climate Resilience and Energy in our overall thrust to get operations up and running for the strategic implementation of the management framework for the Buccoo Reef Marine Park.

🟢Progress is made this week as our cadre of workers have cleared out significant areas of the abandoned structure previously occupied by the Buccoo Reef Trust

🟢Clearing of the land space adjacent to and around the structure continues, as the Division intends to action a properly constituted headquarters for the department of Marine Resources to station management operations for the Buccoo Reef Marine Park.

🟢We are pleased with the work of our cadre, as members of the team can now say that they were part of the actioning a meaningful development for our island's thrust towards good environmental governance and management of our natural resources, namely the Bon Accord Lagoon, and by extension the Buccoo Reef Marine Park and it's sensitivities.

🗣️Here is a recap of our first inspection exercise at the Tropikist Beach Hotel Limited as part of our ongoing Tobago Eco-Stewardship Programme.

🗣️The Tobago Eco-Stewardship Programme is running and off to a wonderful start since our launch in June 2026!

🟩Today marked the first showcase of activities facilitated by the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme - TRWRP at participating partner hotel Tropikist Beach Hotel Limited.

🟩On site to inspect the operations at the farm to table experience on the hotel premises were members of management from TRWRP, representatives from the environmental club of the Signal Hill Secondary School, the Division of Food Security and Environment Tobago.

🟩As part of the inspection process, hotel management and staff showcased the establishment of separation of waste bins on the premises for guests, towards the encouragement of recycling, as outlined in the requirements of the programme.

🟩Through the programme, the hotel also showcased a live demonstration of the usage of the organically grown and harvested produce from the farm to table experience in food preparation methods, with samples of the culinary delights being presented to the members of our inspection team.

🟩Also noted in this walkthrough was the placement of signs in and around the farm to table experience, identifying the various crop types, as well as the recently planted breadfruit trees on the hotel premises.

🟩The hotel will also support and participate in a planned beach cleanup scheduled for September 19th, 2026 along with the students from the Signal Hill Secondary School's environmental club.

🗣️Our field operations and the management of our cadres under the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme - TRWRP is key in fulfilling the mandate of our organization.

🟢Today the Chairman of the board of directors, management, operations and accounting staff had the opportunity to meet with our contractors that serve throughout various zones across the island.

🟢The discussions were fruitful as we are pressing on with new and exciting innovations with our community based outputs through our cadres in mind.

🟢A clear pathway forward was articulated and all parties present agreed that there is great potential for the programme to grow and do even more activities towards developing green spaces and managing our natural resources across Tobago.

🟢In train are also plans for our cadres of workers to receive training in the following areas:
- Tour guiding
- Green or agro-business development
- Sargassum product development
- Bamboo product development
- Ecotourism product development
- Bird and tree surveying
- Trail mapping and ecological surveys
- Lifesaving skills / First Aid

🗣️Day 2 of our efforts to assist in the recovery of premises earmarked for the Buccoo Reef Marine Park Management headquarters and proposed eco-education facility. Good progress is being made on this project!
