Liu husi diskusaun, sesaun refleksaun, no planeamentu kolektivu, partisipante sira fahe esperiénsia, identifika dezafiu sira, no buka dalan atu fortalese advokasia lokal no solidariedade komunidade nian.

Fundasaun CODIVA conducted a CBO strengthening activity in Baucau municipality on 18-19 May 2026.

The activity aimed to strengthen community-based organizations (CBOs), rebuild networks, and encourage greater community participation in promoting human rights, inclusion, and equality for LGBTIQ+ communities in Timor-Leste.

Through discussions, reflection sessions, and collective planning, participants shared experiences, identified challenges, and explored ways to strengthen local advocacy and community solidarity.

This activity is supported by Outright International.

Fundasaun CODIVA liuhusi Programa Outright hala’o atividade workshop ho tema “Papel Advokasia Legal hodi Kombate Eskluzaun Sosial” iha Dili, loron 22 Maiu 2026.

Atividade ne’e ninia objetivu mak atu fahe informasaun kona-ba papel advokasia legal hodi influensia mudansa sosial no kombate eskluzaun sosial, liuhusi ajuda ema hotu atu hetan direitu hanesan, asesu ba justisa, no oportunidade atu partisipa iha sosiedade.

Workshop ne’e hetan partisipasaun máxima hosi Community Based Organizations (CBOs) iha Munisípiu Dili.

Orador sira hosi ALFELA no INDICCA esplika katak seidauk ema hotu iha asesu ba informasaun di’ak no servisu legal sira. Advokasia legal importante tebes tanba fó informasaun, orientasaun no apoiu legal ba komunidade sira.

Sira mos hateten katak advokasia legal enkoraja ema hotu atu partisipa iha prosesu desizaun iha komunidade, governasaun lokal no dezenvolvimentu sosial. Liuhusi workshop no kampaña sosial sira, advokasia legal ajuda komunidade komprende sira-nia direitu no obrigasaun.

Workshop refere mos subliña katak advokasia legal mak instrumentu importante ida atu garante ema hotu iha oportunidade hanesan iha sosiedade. Ho advokasia legal, komunidade bele sai forte liu, konsiente kona-ba direitu sira, no partisipa ativamente iha dezenvolvimentu sosial.

On 22 May 2026 in Dili, Fundasaun CODIVA through the Outright Program conducted a workshop under the theme “The Role of Legal Advocacy in Combating Social Exclusion.”

The workshop aimed to share information about the role of legal advocacy in influencing social change and combating social exclusion by helping all people gain equal rights, access to justice, and opportunities to participate in society.

The activity gathered strong participation from Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in Dili.

Speakers from legal assistance organizations such as ALFELA and INDICCA highlighted that many people still lack proper access to information and legal services. They emphasized that legal advocacy plays an important role in providing information, guidance, and legal support to communities.

They also noted that legal advocacy encourages people to participate in decision-making processes within communities, local governance, and social development. Through workshops and social campaigns, legal advocacy helps communities better understand their rights and responsibilities.

The workshop further emphasized that legal advocacy is an important instrument in ensuring equal opportunities for everyone in society. Through legal advocacy, communities can become stronger, more aware of their rights, and more actively involved in social development.

Ohin loron Sesta-Feira, 15 Maiu 2026, Fundasaun CODIVA kontinua realiza atividade diskusaun ho estudante sira husi Universidade Oriental Timor Lorosa’e (UNITAL) atu ko’alia kona-ba ezisténsia komunidade LGBTIQ+ iha kampus universitáriu.

Atividade ida ne’e mos sai hanesan espasu diskusaun atu hametin ideia kona-ba kria kampus ida ne’ebé inkluzivu no seguro ba ema hotu, atu nune’e bele garante komunidade LGBTIQ+ sira nia direitu iha prosesu aprendizajen nian no fó oportunidade hanesan ba estudante hotu atu kontribui ba dezenvolvimentu Timor-Leste ida ne’ebé inkluzivu liu.

Today, Friday, 15 May 2026, Fundasaun CODIVA conducted a dialogue with students from UNITAL to discuss the presence and experiences of the LGBTIQ+ community within university campuses.

The activity also served as a space for discussion on how to build a more inclusive and safer campus for everyone, helping to guarantee the rights of LGBTIQ+ people in the learning process and ensuring equal opportunities for all students to contribute to a more inclusive Timor-Leste.

Treinamentu ne’e nia objetivu atu hasa’e koñesimentu kona-ba direitu komunidade LGBTIQ+, liu-liu iha servisu prevensaun no asisténsia ne’ebé livre husi stigma no diskriminasaun bazeia ba identidade jeneru no orientasaun sexual.

Atividade ne’e hetan suporta husi The Asia Foundation (TAF) liu husi programa NABILAN.

On 20–22 April 2026, Fundasaun CODIVA conducted a SOGIESC education training for its service partner, BAHM (Bin Alin Hakbiit Malu). The training aimed to strengthen knowledge on the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community, particularly in prevention and assistance services that are free from stigma and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

This activity was supported by The Asia Foundation through the NABILAN Program.
