The Consortium of PLHIV in Eswatini, extends its deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and the entire nation following the passing of Mrs Rejoice Nkambule, Deputy Director in the Ministry of Health.
Mrs Nkambule was a compassionate leader, a dedicated health worker, and a true champion for people living with HIV. At a time when stigma, fear, and discrimination were very high, she and others stood with courage and humanity to educate communities, provide counselling, and give hope to countless people living with HIV across Eswatini. Her kindness, support, and commitment touched many lives and restored dignity to those who felt forgotten.
Her journey from frontline health worker to leadership within the Ministry of Health was a reflection of her hard work, passion, and unwavering dedication to improving the lives of emaSwati. She played an important role in strengthening the HIV response and advocating for care, treatment, and support for vulnerable communities. Today, we mourn the loss of a mother, sister, mentor, colleague, and servant of the people. The HIV community has lost a strong pillar whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and May God comfort her family, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire nation during this difficult time.

Call for Nominations!!!

Dear friends and colleagues,
The NGO Delegation to the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) is calling for nominations for members of the Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG) for the 57th PCB Thematic Segment on “Beyond 2025: Long-acting antiretrovirals – potential to close HIV prevention and treatment gaps,” taking place on 18 December 2025.

Long-acting HIV medicines could revolutionize prevention and treatment—but only if they are accessible to everyone who needs them. The CSAG will work with the NGO Delegation to ensure the voices, needs, and rights of affected communities are at the centre of this discussion.

We invite nominations from individuals with experience in HIV advocacy, human rights, community-led responses, access to medicines, or related areas—particularly those from and working with communities most affected by HIV. Membership is voluntary and unpaid.

To nominate yourself or someone else, please email [email protected] with your name, contact details, and a brief summary of relevant experience.

Deadline: 29 August 2025

Help shape the global conversation on equitable access to long-acting HIV prevention and treatment.
