Autism Eswatini strongly condemns all forms of sexual abuse, exploitation and violence against children/individuals with Autism.

Every person has the right to live in safety, dignity and respect. We call upon parents, caregivers, educators, community leaders and the public to remain vigilant, create safe environments and report any suspected cases of abuse.

Together, we can build a society where children/individuals with Autism are protected, valued and empowered to thrive. If you see something, say something. If you suspect abuse, report it. Protection starts with all of us.

“Asikugweme kukhiyela bantfwabentfu etindlini uma siya emasontfweni ngoba bona bakhubatekile.” 💙

On 09 May 2026, Autism Eswatini joined the Women’s Manyano under The Methodist Church of Southern Africa, Hhohho Wesley Circuit 1027, for a powerful Autism Awareness Session focused on understanding, inclusion, and community support for individuals on the Autism Spectrum.

The session focused on promoting Autism understanding, inclusion, and support for individuals on the spectrum within the church and the community. We emphasized the importance of welcoming persons with disabilities into our churches, creating safe and inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and loved.

We also encouraged communities to move away from overly sympathetic reactions that may unintentionally make individuals with disabilities feel uncomfortable or isolated in public spaces. Inclusion starts with acceptance, respect, and treating everyone with dignity.

Together, let us build communities and churches where every child and every person belongs.

At Autism Eswatini, we often use the term “Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)”, but what does “Spectrum” really mean?

The word 'Spectrum' refers to the wide range of differences, strengths, abilities, challenges, and support needs that children/individuals with Autism may have. No two people with Autism are exactly the same. One person may communicate verbally, while another may use alternative ways to communicate. Some may need more daily support, while others may be highly independent.

Autism is not “one-size-fits-all.” Every child/individual with Autism experiences the world in their own unique way and understanding this helps us build a more inclusive and supportive community.

Every person experiences the world in their own unique way, with different strengths, personalities, interests, and ways of expressing themselves. Instead of expecting everyone to fit into one box, let us learn to appreciate and embrace those differences with love, patience, and understanding.

Because a world that accepts differences is a world where everyone has the chance to belong. đź’™
