🩸 First periods come with different stories.

In this conversations, young people openly share their first menstrual experiences. To some, it was a rollercoaster full of fear, confusion, surprises, and learning curves. To others, it was a smooth transition, made easier by prior knowledge, support, and someone who guided them through it.
But one thing is clear: no two journeys are the same, and every experience deserves to be heard.
They also share advice for those who will experience it next stay informed, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and remember that menstruation is natural, not something to be ashamed of.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to normalize conversations about menstruation early, so young people feel prepared and supported. Boys and young men are also reminded that their role matters showing respect, understanding, and helping create a stigma-free environment for all.

We also call for stronger community action through pad donation initiatives. Many young people still face barriers in accessing sanitary pads, which can affect confidence, participation, and dignity. A simple donation can make a real difference.
💙 From rollercoaster to smooth journeys—support changes everything.
🤝 Donate pads. Support dignity. Break the silence.

Periods are a natural part of life, and the conversation includes everyone.
During our Menstrual Hygiene Month commemoration, young people engaged in meaningful discussions on menstrual hygiene management, the importance of proper menstrual practices, and how boys and men can be supportive allies.
When everyone is informed, everyone benefits.

Today, on Menstrual Hygiene Day, we celebrate the courage of young people who are sharing their first period experiences. By opening up about their journeys, they help break the stigma, promote understanding, and remind us that menstruation is a natural part of life. Together, let's create a world where every girl can manage her period with dignity, confidence, and support.
