Today, 5 June 2026 we honor and celebrate the courage, resilience, and strength of people living with HIV (especially women, adolescent girls and young women in their diversity) who have navigated decades of challenges, stigma, loss, and change. HIV Long-Term Survivors Day is a time to recognize the invaluable contributions of long-term survivors who have been at the forefront of the fight against HIV and whose experiences continue to inspire generations and generations.

As we commemorate this day, we remember that while significant progress has been made in HIV prevention, treatment, and care, the journey is NOT OVER. Long-term survivors continue to face unique health, social, and economic challenges that require ongoing attention, support, and investment.

Positive Women Together in Action stands in solidarity with all long-term survivors, especially women and girls living with HIV, whose strength and determination have transformed communities and advanced the response to HIV.

Today, we celebrate your stories, honor your resilience, and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind. ❤️❤️

"It Is Still Not Over."

📢Today, May 17th, we join the global community in observing the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 🕯

This day is a sacred space for us to pause, unite, and reflect. Under this year’s vital theme: Light The Legacy: Remember. Advance. Act. We look back with love❤️, stand tall in the present, and march forward with fierce determination.

📌REMEMBER: We light our candles to honor the millions of precious lives lost to AIDS-related illnesses. We carry their memories in our hearts, remembering their names, their strength, and the deep resilience of the women, men, boys, girls in all our diversity and communities who paved the way for us. 🫡

📌ADVANCE: We celebrate the incredible progress we’ve made. Today, science and advocacy give us the power to live long, healthy, and thriving lives. We continue to advance health rights, education, and support systems that uplift women, girls and families.

📌ACT: Our work is far from over. Stigma, discrimination, and inequalities still stand in the way of health and dignity. Today, we renew our unwavering commitment to act to dismantle barriers, challenge prejudice, and ensure every person living with HIV is wrapped in support🫂, love❤️❤️❤️, and equal opportunity.

A legacy is not just what we inherit, it is what we build together. To every woman, sister, and ally: your life, your voice 🗣, and your health matter.

Let us keep shining our light, standing hand-in-hand, and carrying the legacy forward.

Join us and light your virtual candle here 👉🏾: https://candlelightmemorial.net/virtual-candles/

School should be for learning, not for fear. 📚💙

Bullying hurts children in many ways:
❌ Physical: Hitting or pushing.
❌ Verbal: Mean words and teasing.
❌ Digital: Bullying through social media (Cyber-bullying).

Nearly 32% of Nigerian teens have faced bullying. This has to stop.

The Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria has launched the National Policy on Anti-Bullying. These are new rules to keep our schools safe, friendly, and respectful for everyone.

👩🏽‍⚕️💙 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY 💙👩🏽‍⚕️

Today we celebrate the people who hold hands during pain, give hope during fear, and continue to care even when they are tired themselves. Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare. They work long hours, comfort patients, support families, and fight for lives every single day with strength and compassion.
Behind every recovering patient, there is often a nurse who never gave up🫡.

To all nurses in Eswatini and around the world, thank you for your patience, sacrifices, sleepless nights, kindness, and dedication to humanity. Your work matters more than words can explain.

May you continue to heal, inspire, and save lives.
Happy International Nurses Day! 💐💙

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL NURSES WEEK
Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives

Happy International Nurses Week, we honor and celebrate the nurses who continue to serve with compassion, strength, and dedication every single day. Nurses are the heart of healthcare. They comfort patients, support families, save lives, and stand beside people during their most painful and vulnerable moments.

In Eswatini and beyond, nurses continue to go above and beyond, even in difficult situations where some patients must travel to other countries for specialized treatment and surgeries. Through it all, nurses remain a source of hope, care, and encouragement.

Your patience heals.
Your kindness comforts.
Your sacrifice inspires communities.
Today, we say THANK YOU to all nurses for your hard work, sleepless nights, commitment, and love for humanity.

Also, This week encourages communities, Healthcare institutions and Government to support nurses and stregthen health systems globally🌍

💔 Another life lost to Gender-Based Violence. Another family destroyed. Another group of children left traumatized. A young woman reportedly experienced abuse and even sought help from the police, yet today she is no more. She was brutally killed in front of children, family members, and loved ones. The pain and trauma those children will carry may never fully disappear.

This is a painful reminder that abuse should never be ignored, normalized, or excused. Violence does not start with murder, it often begins with threats, control, insults, fear, isolation, and physical abuse.

To every woman and girl:
🚨 Choose yourself.
🚨 Speak up.
🚨 Seek help.
🚨 Do not stay silent because of fear, love, children, or financial dependence.

To families, communities, and authorities:

when someone reports abuse, take it seriously. One ignored cry for help can end in tragedy. Children deserve to grow up in safe homes, not homes filled with fear and violence.

Let us stand together against Gender-Based Violence and protect women and children before it is too late.

📢📢During our visit to Msahweni (Timphisi ) and Vuvulane, we engaged with TB survivors and patients to better understand the challenges they face while taking their medication. Many shared difficult experiences such as sore feet, hearing problems, weakness in hands, constant tiredness, dizziness, itching skin, painful arms, continuous coughing even after treatment, and vomiting. These challenges affect their daily lives and make recovery even more difficult.

We also discussed bodily autonomy and integrity, as well as gender equality, highlighting the importance of respecting patients and supporting them throughout their treatment journey.

Community members also raised important concerns and requests directed to the Ministry of Health. These included the need for closer health facilities, improved access to clinics, food support packages, counselling services for TB patients, and financial support or grants to help them survive during treatment. These requests show the real struggles faced by patients and the need for stronger support systems.

This engagement helped us understand the realities faced by TB survivors and reminded us of the importance of community support, accessible healthcare, and continued awareness.
