Purity Pride Eswatini has donated 20 books during a specialized service for boys hosted at the Mafutseni Chiefdom yesterday.
🩷Purity is a conversation for our boys too!
When we talk about sexual purity, we cannot leave the boys out of the conversation. They are our girls' brothers, classmates, neighbours, friends and, one day, the young men they may build relationships with. They are an important part of the same communities we hope to see raising a generation that makes positive, responsible choices.
We were therefore grateful for the invitation from Umphakatsi wase-Mafutseni to share the message of sexual purity, this time with the boys! 🩷
Through Liphupho Lami Ngilitjitji, we have been reaching young girls with a message of purity, self-worth, faith and the importance of making choices that protect their dreams. But these values matter to boys too. They also need spaces where they can reflect on their choices, understand their responsibilities and learn what it means to respect themselves and others.
We want our boys to understand that respect matters, that pressure does not have to determine their choices, and that they, too, can choose to wait and take responsibility for the futures they are building.
After all, we cannot keep having conversations with girls about protecting their dreams without also speaking to the boys who share those dreams, classrooms, communities and relationships with them.
Raising a generation that values purity and makes responsible choices is a responsibility we all share, and our boys deserve to be part of that conversation. 🩷
