Bullying affects more children than we may realize, and its impact can last a lifetime. Parents and caregivers, must create safe spaces where children feel heard, supported, and protected. Let’s encourage open conversations, listen without judgment, and remind our children that they are never alone. Together, we can raise kinder, stronger, and more confident children. 💛

You cannot pour from an empty cup.
Today, SWAGAA staff, through the generous support of our valued partner Angus McLeod, took intentional time to pause, recharge, and reconnect with ourselves at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. Surrounded by the calm and beauty of nature, we found space to rest, reflect, and restore not only our energy, but also our sense of purpose.

Working on the frontlines of supporting survivors and strengthening communities can be both meaningful and demanding. Moments like these remind us that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity. By taking time to refill our cups, we strengthen our ability to continue showing up with compassion, resilience, and dedication.

We return from this experience renewed, re-energized, and ready to continue serving our communities with even greater impact. 💚🌿

Today, SWAGAA, under the KNH Project, successfully coordinated a review meeting bringing together parents, teachers, and community leaders from Mbasheni and St Joseph’s. The purpose of the meeting was to assess the current status of the project, share key achievements, and reflect on the impact made within the communities.

The session provided a platform to demonstrate the progress and results of the project, particularly in advancing efforts to eliminate Gender-Based Violence (GBV), promote inclusive learning, and create safe spaces for children with disabilities in homes, schools, and communities.

Participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing experiences, lessons learned, and recommendations to further strengthen the project’s implementation and sustainability. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between schools, families, and communities in safeguarding the well-being and rights of children.

SWAGAA remains committed to driving meaningful change and ensuring that every child, especially those with disabilities, can learn and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

SPAR remains committed to supporting efforts to end Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

As part of this commitment, SPAR has kindly donated food parcels and dignity packs worth E5,000 to SWAGAA. These items will assist survivors of GBV and other vulnerable members of our community.

We truly appreciate this thoughtful contribution. It will make a meaningful difference by bringing relief, restoring dignity, and offering hope to those in need.

Together, we can create a safer and more caring Eswatini. 💜

The SWAGAA Empowerment Club Graduation at St Joseph’s High School was a great success. The event was attended by students, parents, teachers from Mbasheni Primary School and St Joseph’s High School, the Mafutseni Indvuna Yenkhundla, religious leaders, and parents.

Community leaders expressed their appreciation for the impactful work SWAGAA continues to do in both communities through the KNH Project, which focuses on empowering young people with essential life skills, leadership development, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The project also promotes inclusive learning, ensuring that all learners, including students with disabilities, are supported and given equal opportunities to participate, learn, and thrive within their school environments.

Through this initiative, students are equipped with practical knowledge and are supported to start poultry businesses, helping them develop entrepreneurship, financial management, and business skills at a young age. This hands-on approach encourages self-reliance and prepares learners to contribute positively to their communities.

The graduation marked an important milestone as students celebrated the knowledge and skills they gained through the SWAGAA Empowerment Clubs, demonstrating the importance of community collaboration in creating opportunities for young people.

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸💜

Today, SWAGAA joins the global community in commemorating International Women’s Day under the theme “Give to Gain.”

This theme reminds us that when we invest in women and girls—by giving support, opportunities, protection, and equal rights—we all gain stronger families, safer communities, and a more just society. At SWAGAA, we remain committed to advocating for the rights, safety, and empowerment of women and girls, and to ending all forms of violence and discrimination.

As we mark this important day, let us continue to give our voices, our support, and our action to the fight for gender equality—because when women and girls rise, we all gain.

Today, SWAGAA under the KNH project facilitated a powerful lobbying and Advocacy meeting between parents, teachers and students from St Joseph’s High School and Mbasheni Primary School, the Honorable Minister of Education and Training, Mr Owen Nxumalo , Director Guidance, Inspectors, Regional Principals and Regional Education Officers.

The meeting created a platform to directly address the challenges affecting children with disabilities- from barriers to inclusive learning, to the need for improved infrastructure and better support systems for both learners and teachers.

Parents, teachers and students bravely shared their lived experiences, calling for inclusive policies, accessible structures and a learning environment where every child is supported to strive.

We are encouraged that the Minister committed to attending to the issues raised and working towards strengthening inclusiveness within schools.

Inclusive Education is not a privilege-It is a right, and today was a step forward.💜

Today, SWAGAA welcomed representatives from KNH to monitor project progress and engage directly with the communities we serve.

The delegation visited St Joseph’s School, where they met with the Students’ Empowerment Clubs for children with disabilities and the Parents’ Club. These platforms are creating safe spaces where children with disabilities are empowered to know their rights, build confidence, and participate meaningfully in decisions that affect their lives. At the same time, parents are being equipped to advocate for inclusion, protection, and equal opportunities for their children.

In Mafutseni Constituency, discussions with the Indvuna Yenkhundla focused on the project’s impact at community level, particularly in strengthening inclusion and challenging harmful attitudes that marginalize children with disabilities. Conversations also centered on sustainability and how collective leadership can further improve outcomes.

Inclusion is not charity — it is a right. Monitoring visits like these reaffirm our shared responsibility to ensure that no child is left behind.
