Every woman deserves to feel safe, valued, and empowered in her community.
To strengthen our commitment to gender equity, our staff recently participated in a dedicated two-day training focused on understanding and preventing violence against women. We are excited to bring these vital lessons and conversations directly into our partner communities, working hand in hand to build safer and more supportive futures for everyone.

We are delighted to announce a new funding partnership with UNDP in Sierra Leone to bring OVP’s Participatory Land Use Mapping and Planning (PLUMP) work to 14 villages between now and February 2027. Country Director Aminata Kamara represented OVP at the official signing ceremony. An important part of our community-led development approach, PLUMP brings residents together to understand land rights, map land boundaries, natural resources, and current uses, and to develop shared plans for using their land more efficiently, equitably and sustainably. Through this inclusive process, communities gain the knowledge and tools to strengthen land governance, protect natural resources and make informed decisions that support their livelihoods for years to come. We are grateful to UNDP for investing in locally led solutions in rural Sierra Leone!
