Wellfound Agriculture Officer Visits FBO Rice Farmers in Upper Banta Communities.

As part of the ongoing support under the RAB Project, the Wellfound Agriculture Officer visited Farmer-Based Organizations (FBOs) in the Upper Banta communities to monitor and support farmers who are currently transplanting rice seedlings.

The visit provided an opportunity to observe farmers’ progress, assess the transplanting process, and provide technical guidance on good rice production practices.

The farmers expressed their commitment to ensuring that the rice fields are properly managed to achieve improved yields and strengthen household food security.
Through continued monitoring, technical support, and collaboration with farmers, Wellfound Sierra Leone remains committed to promoting sustainable agriculture and improving the livelihoods of farming communities.

From Nursery to Swamp: Mosoko's FBO Transplants Rice

Under the Rural Agricultural Boost in Kargboro Chiefdom, the Farmer-Based Organization (FBO) in Mosoko has successfully started transplanting the rice seedlings they nursed into the swamp they cultivated.
This is an important step in their rice production journey, demonstrating the commitment, hard work, and teamwork of our farmers toward improving food production and livelihoods.

Through the RAB Project in Moyamba, we are working to reduce hunger, strengthen food security, and improve the livelihoods of farming communities.

Strengthening Community Outreach through IEC Materials.

We are excited to share that From August 13th to 15th, our dedicated Wellfound team collaborated with specialists from SiLNoRF, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, Moyamba District Council and more.
Over three days of collaboration, we worked together to develop impactful Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials that will strengthen our community outreach, awareness, and engagement efforts.

In Moyemi Community, Nicolas and his two brothers teamed up with the WellFound drilling team to help install the pump for the newly dug well.

More than 300 children walk miles to attend school, while food remains scarce and resources are limited.

Children in Sembehun enjoyed an energetic drama and dance session with Nicolas.

He is helping them learn dance steps and prepare for a community performance on Sunday, where they will use drama and movement to express aspects of their lives and experiences.

The session brought the children together to learn, participate and enjoy a creative moment as a group.

In Walpalah Community, community members demonstrated handwashing using a facility they made locally to help improve health and hygiene.

The drilling of a new well gave Nicolas’s brothers, who travelled from France, an opportunity to take part in the practical work alongside the local team.

A special day at ICS Primary School.

The pupils gave a warm and joyful welcome to Nicolas from the USA and his two brothers from France as they visited the school garden.

The children were excited to meet them, share smiles and proudly showcase the garden they have helped nurture with care and dedication. The school garden has been supported by Grammar School, High Wycombe, helping pupils develop practical skills while learning about food production and caring for the environment.

It was a wonderful moment of friendship, learning and appreciation for nature. Thank you to our visitors for spending this special time with the ICS Primary School family.
