Breaking New Ground for the Future of Sierra Leone

Yesterday at Felei-Tech City in Tikonko Village, Bo, Orange Foundation, alongside the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, officially turned the sod for the Orange Village in the presence of the Honorable Minister, Madame Salima Bah, and the CEO of Orange Sierra Leone, Madame Aicha Touré, the CEO of Felei-Tech City, Mr David Manley, and the Director of Orange Foundation, Annie Wonnie-Katta along with other key government and traditional representatives.

This transformative initiative will bring a school and a hospital to the community which will expand access to education, healthcare, and technology for this generation and more to come.

As part of our continued commitment to empowering communities, Orange Foundation also donated school materials to pupils in nearby schools, supporting young learners with the tools they need to thrive.

Together, we are building more than infrastructure, we are building opportunity, innovation, and hope for the future.

Something big is happening in Bo District today.

Orange Sierra Leone Foundation is breaking ground on a School and Hospital at Felei TechCity, alongside the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation.

The will serve the local community and Sierra Leoneans for generations to come.

When His Excellency President Bio launched Felei TechCity at the 2024 Tech Summit, Mobile Network Operators made a promise - to invest not just in technology, but in people.

Today, Orange is the first to deliver on that promise. During consultations with the local community on what their needs were, a primary school and a health centre were the top two priorities for residents.

This isn't just a groundbreaking. It's a statement that world-class education and healthcare belong in Sierra Leone.

Orange Foundation and UBA Foundation Handed Over Newly Refurbished Maternity Ward at York Community Health Center

Today, the newly renovated maternity ward at York Community Health Center was officially handed over to the York Community in the presence of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mr Andrew Sorie, the CEO of Orange Sierra Leone, Madame Aicha Touré, the CEO of UBA Bank Sierra Leone, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura, and the Director of Orange Foundation, Annie Wonnie-Katta.

This initiative under the Safeguarding Maternal Health project reflects a shared commitment to improving healthcare delivery and creating safer, more dignified spaces for mothers and newborns in our communities.

Together with our partners, we continue to invest in impact-driven work that support healthier future for women and children across Sierra Leone.
