Levi’s Stadium had to hide its own name for the World Cup.

Because Levi’s is not an official FIFA sponsor, the stadium’s branding in Santa Clara was covered and the venue is being referred to as “San Francisco Bay Area Stadium” during the tournament.

But the cover-up became the story: the red Levi’s sign was hidden in a way that still kept the brand’s iconic shape instantly recognizable.

A strange little lesson in modern stadiums — where architecture, naming rights, global sports, and branding all meet on the same façade.
