زيارة ميدانية مركز صحي الشهيد آفندي لتعزيز جودة البيانات والترصد الوبائي

نفّذ متدرب برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي (B-FETP)، د.عبدالرحمن عادل الريح، بتاريخ 8 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة ميدانية إلى مر كز صحي الشهيد آفندي، محافظة باو ، إقليم النيل الأزرق، بهدف تقييم وضمان جودة نظام الترصد الوبائي وتدفق البيانات الصحية، والتحقق من دقة وتوقيت التقارير الأسبوعية والإبلاغ الفوري عن الأوبئة.

وشملت الزيارة مقابلة مساعد طبي /ادم عبدالغني لتقييم معرفته بالتعريفات القياسية للحالات، خاصة أمراض القائمة (أ)، وآلية الإبلاغ الفوري. كما تمت مقابلة إختصاصي المختبرات/محمد ادم للتحقق من توفر معينات أخذ العينات وحفظها، ومراجعة سجلات الفحوصات والبروتوكولات المعتمدة لجمع العينات.

كما تمت مقابلة الشخص المحوري للترصد/حواء مامون لمراجعة أهمية انسياب البيانات والتقارير الأسبوعية واستمارات التبليغ، إلى جانب مراجعة سجل المترددين بالمركز ومتابعة آلية التواصل مع مسؤول الترصد.

وأسهمت الزيارة في الوقوف على ألية الترصد والتبليغ بالمركز وتحديد الجوانب التي تحتاج إلى تعزيز، بما يدعم تحسين جودة البيانات الصحية وتعزيز سرعة ودقة الإبلاغ عن الأمراض والأوبئة.
The visit included an interview with Medical Assistant Adam Abdelghani to assess his knowledge of standard case definitions, particularly those related to Category A diseases, and the procedures for immediate reporting. Laboratory Specialist Mohamed Adam was also interviewed to verify the availability of sample collection and preservation supplies, review laboratory examination records, and assess compliance with approved sample collection protocols.
In addition, the surveillance focal person, Hawa Mamoun, was interviewed to review the importance of data flow, weekly reporting, and notification forms. The health center’s patient attendance register was also reviewed, and the communication mechanism with the surveillance officer was assessed.
The visit helped assess the center’s surveillance and reporting mechanisms and identify areas requiring improvement, thereby supporting better health data quality and enhancing the speed and accuracy of disease and outbreak reporting.

زيارة ميدانية لمركز صحي البرنو بمحلية كسلا لتعزيز جودة البيانات الصحية وكفاءة الترصد الوبائي
في إطار الأنشطة التطبيقية لبرنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي (Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program – Basic FETP)، نفّذت المتدربة رفيدة محمد أحمد عبده، يوم 5 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة ميدانية إلى مركز صحي البرنو بمحلية كسلا، بهدف مراجعة جودة البيانات الصحية وتقييم أداء نظام الترصد الصحي بالمركز.
وشملت الزيارة مقابلات مع مسؤول الترصد الصحي ومسؤول الإحصاء، إلى جانب العاملين بالصيدلية وهيئة التمريض، وجولة ميدانية على أقسام المعمل والتغذية والتحصين ومكتب الزائرة الصحية.
وركزت الزيارة على تقييم اكتمال البيانات ودقتها واتساقها، ومراجعة آليات جمع المعلومات الصحية وتسجيلها وإعداد التقارير، إلى جانب الوقوف على سير العمل والتنسيق بين الأقسام، والتعرف على التحديات التي تؤثر في جودة البيانات والإبلاغ الصحي.
As part of the practical activities of the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program (Basic FETP), trainee Rufaida Mohamed Ahmed Abdo conducted a field visit to Al-Borno Health Center in Kassala Locality on 5 October 2026, with the aim of reviewing health data quality and assessing the performance of the center’s health surveillance system.
The visit included interviews with the health surveillance focal person and the statistics officer, as well as pharmacy staff and nursing personnel. It also involved a field tour of the laboratory, nutrition, immunization, and community health visitor offices.
The visit focused on assessing the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of health data; reviewing data collection, recording, and health reporting procedures; evaluating workflow and coordination among the different departments; and identifying challenges affecting data quality and health information reporting.
This visit is part of the program’s efforts to strengthen health workers’ skills in field assessment of epidemiological surveillance systems, identify gaps, and propose appropriate interventions to improve data quality, thereby supporting the early detection of health events and enhancing timely response

برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي – ولاية كسلا

زيارة ميدانية لمستشفى كسلا التعليمي لتعزيز الترصد الوبائي وجودة البيانات الصحية

في إطار أنشطة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي بولاية كسلا، نُفذت زيارة ميدانية إلى مستشفى كسلا التعليمي يومي 9 و11 أكتوبر 2026، بواسطة د. رفيدة محمد أحمد عبده، وذلك للوقوف على سير العمل ومراجعة نظم التسجيل والتوثيق بالأقسام المستهدفة.

شملت الزيارة مكتب الإحصاء، وأقسام الطوارئ الباطنية والجراحة، والعنبر الحرج بالطوارئ، والعناية المكثفة، ومعمل الطوارئ، إلى جانب لقاء المدير الطبي للمستشفى.

وتضمنت الأنشطة مراجعة سجلات الطوارئ ودفاتر التسجيل بالعنبر الحرج والعناية المكثفة، والاطلاع على البوسترات والملصقات التوعوية والإرشادية، بما يدعم تقييم ممارسات التوثيق وتوفر المعلومات الصحية اللازمة للمتابعة والترصد الوبائي.

وتأتي هذه الزيارة ضمن جهود برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي لتعزيز جودة البيانات الصحية، وتحسين نظم التسجيل والإبلاغ، ودعم الاكتشاف المبكر للأحداث الصحية ذات الأهمية الوبائية، بما يسهم في تقوية نظام الترصد والاستجابة الصحية بولاية كسلا.

Field Epidemiology Training Program – Kassala State

Field Visit to Kassala Teaching Hospital to Strengthen Epidemiological Surveillance and Health Data Quality

As part of the activities of the Field Epidemiology Training Program in Kassala State, a field visit was conducted to Kassala Teaching Hospital on 9 and 11 October 2026 by Dr. Rufaida Mohamed Ahmed Abdo to assess workflow and review registration and documentation systems in the targeted departments.

The visit covered the Statistics Office, the Internal Medicine and Surgery Emergency Departments, the Emergency Critical Care Ward, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and the Emergency Laboratory, in addition to a meeting with the hospital’s Medical Director.

The activities included reviewing emergency records and registration books in the Emergency Critical Care Ward and the ICU, as well as examining awareness and instructional posters and labels. These activities supported the assessment of documentation practices and the availability of health information required for follow-up and epidemiological surveillance.

This visit is part of the Field Epidemiology Training Program’s efforts to enhance health data quality, improve registration and reporting systems, and support the early detection of public health events of epidemiological importance, thereby contributing to strengthening the surveillance and health response system in Kassala State.

زيارة ميدانية لمركز صحي المعاصر بالقضارف لتعزيز جودة البيانات وتقوية نظام الترصد الوبائي

نفّذت متدربة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي، رباب الطيب محمد أحمد، بتاريخ 6 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة ميدانية إلى مركز صحي المعاصر ببلدية القضارف، ولاية القضارف، وذلك ضمن أنشطة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي لعام 2026، الهادفة إلى تحسين نظام الترصد الوبائي، وتعزيز جودة البيانات الصحية، وضمان التبليغ الفوري عن الأمراض والأوبئة والظواهر الصحية، واكتمال التقارير وإرسالها في الوقت المحدد.

وشملت الزيارة المرور على الأقسام المختلفة بالمركز لتقييم سير العمل والأداء، حيث تمت مقابلة الطبيب للتأكد من معرفته بالأمراض واجبة التبليغ الفوري والتعريفات الموحدة للحالات، كما تمت مراجعة إجراءات التسجيل بالعيادة والتأكيد على توثيق جميع الحالات المترددة، خاصة الحالات المشتبه في إصابتها بأمراض تتطلب التبليغ الفوري.

وفي المعمل، جرى التحقق من توفر المعينات اللازمة لأخذ العينات الوبائية، ومدى الالتزام بالبروتوكولات الخاصة بجمع العينات وحفظها وإرسالها. كما شملت الزيارة عنابر المرضى للتأكد من وجود الدفاتر والملفات الطبية، وتوثيق التشخيصات واكتمال بيانات المرضى بما يسهل متابعتهم والوصول إلى المخالطين عند ظهور حالات وبائية.

كما تمت زيارة قسم الإحصاء لمراجعة آليات تسجيل الحالات والتبليغ الفوري عن أمراض القائمة (أ)، والتحقق من اكتمال التقارير الصحية وإرسالها إلى المستوى الأعلى في الوقت المحدد.

وتأتي الزيارة في إطار جهود برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي لتعزيز كفاءة الكوادر الصحية، وتحسين جودة البيانات وتدفقها، ودعم الاكتشاف المبكر للأمراض الوبائية والاستجابة الفعالة لها.
Field Visit to Al-Muassir Health Center in Gedaref to Strengthen Data Quality and Disease Surveillance

On 6 October 2026, Rabab Al-Tayib Mohamed Ahmed, a trainee in the Field Epidemiology Training Program, conducted a field visit to Al-Muassir Health Center in Gedaref Municipality, Gedaref State. The visit was part of the 2026 Field Epidemiology Program activities aimed at strengthening disease surveillance, improving health data quality, ensuring immediate reporting of epidemics and public health events, and promoting the timely submission of complete reports.

The visit covered several departments to assess workflow and performance. The trainee met with the physician to assess their knowledge of diseases requiring immediate notification and the standardized case definitions. The clinic registration procedures were also reviewed, with emphasis on documenting all patients, particularly suspected cases of diseases requiring immediate reporting.

At the laboratory, the trainee assessed the availability of supplies needed for epidemiological specimen collection and reviewed the protocols for specimen collection, storage, and transportation. The inpatient wards were also visited to verify the availability of registers and patient files, proper documentation of diagnoses, and completeness of patient information to facilitate follow-up and contact tracing in the event of an outbreak.

The Statistics Department was visited to review case registration and immediate reporting procedures for Category A diseases, as well as to verify the completeness of health reports and their timely submission to the next administrative level.

The visit forms part of the Field Epidemiology Program’s efforts to strengthen healthcare workers’ capacity, improve health data quality and flow, and support the early detection of epidemic-prone diseases and effective response.

نفّذت متدربة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي (B-FETP)، يسرا الفاتح، بتاريخ 8 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة ميدانية إلى مركز صحة أسرة الشرقي (الأطفال) بمحافظة الرصيرص، التابع لوزارة الصحة بالشراكة مع إدارة التأمين الصحي، وذلك ضمن أنشطة البرنامج الرامية إلى تقييم جودة البيانات المتعلقة بالأمراض واجبة التبليغ بالمؤسسات الصحية المختارة.

وشملت الزيارة مقابلة الطبيبة د. علا أحمد فطر، للوقوف على مدى إلمام الكادر المعالج بالأمراض واجبة التبليغ وآليات التعامل مع حالات الاشتباه بالأمراض الوبائية التي تتطلب التبليغ الفوري.

كما تمت مراجعة سجل العيادة مع مسجلة العيادة نجلاء محمد عبدالقادر، للتحقق من اكتمال البيانات الشخصية والتشخيصات، والتأكد من دقة واكتمال التقرير الأسبوعي للأمراض الوبائية وإرساله إلى المستوى الأعلى في الوقت المحدد.

وشملت الزيارة كذلك مقابلة اختصاصية المختبرات نجلاء محجوب، لمراجعة مدى توفر المعينات اللازمة لجمع العينات الوبائية.

Field Visit to Al-Sharqi Family Health Center (Children’s Unit) to Assess Data Quality and Strengthen Disease Surveillance

On 8 October 2026, Yousra Al-Fatih, a trainee in the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program (B-FETP), conducted a field visit to Al-Sharqi Family Health Center (Children’s Unit) in Al-Roseires Locality. The center operates under the Ministry of Health in partnership with the Health Insurance Administration. The visit was conducted as part of the program’s activities to assess the quality of data on notifiable diseases at selected health facilities.

The trainee met with Dr. Ola Ahmed Fitr to assess healthcare workers’ knowledge of notifiable diseases and the procedures for managing suspected cases of epidemic-prone diseases that require immediate reporting.

The clinic register was reviewed with clinic registrar Najla Mohamed Abdelgadir to verify the completeness of patients’ personal information and diagnoses, as well as the accuracy and completeness of weekly epidemic disease reports and their timely submission to the next administrative level.

The trainee also met with laboratory specialist Najla Mahjoub to assess the availability of supplies and materials required for collecting epidemiological specimens.

نفّذت متدربة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي (B-FETP)، نادية محمد حسين يونس، بتاريخ 6 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة ميدانية إلى مستشفى خشم القربة التعليمي بمحلية ريفي خشم القربة – ولاية كسلا، بهدف تقييم جودة وتدفق البيانات الصحية وتعزيز نظام التبليغ والترصد الوبائي.

وشملت الزيارة لقاء المدير العام للمستشفى د. معتز راشد الطيب، والمدير الطبي د. عبدالمجيد، لمناقشة أهمية رصد الأمراض الوبائية، خاصة أمراض القائمة (أ)، والالتزام بالتبليغ الفوري عنها، مع التأكيد على إشراك أطباء الحوادث في نظام التبليغ.

كما تمت مراجعة سجلات المترددين مع مسجلة العيادة نجلاء أحمد محمود للتأكد من اكتمال البيانات والتشخيصات، ومراجعة سجلات المعمل مع التقني ماريا حمدين، بما يشمل بيانات المرضى وإجراءات أخذ العينات وحفظها. وشملت الزيارة كذلك قسم التمريض، حيث تم التأكيد على استكمال ملفات المرضى المنومين وتوثيق التشخيصات ومتابعة الحالات حتى الخروج.

Field Visit to Khashm Al-Girba Teaching Hospital to Strengthen Data Quality and Disease Surveillance

On 6 October 2026, Nadia Mohamed Hussein Younis, a trainee in the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program (B-FETP), conducted a field visit to Khashm Al-Girba Teaching Hospital in Rural Khashm Al-Girba Locality, Kassala State. The visit aimed to assess the quality and flow of health data and strengthen disease reporting and surveillance systems.

The visit included meetings with the Hospital Director General, Dr. Mutaz Rashid Al-Tayeb, and the Medical Director, Dr. Abdelmajeed, to discuss the importance of monitoring epidemic-prone diseases, particularly Category A diseases, and ensuring immediate reporting. The need to include all emergency department physicians in the disease reporting system was also emphasized.

Patient registration records were reviewed with clinic registrar Najla Ahmed Mahmoud to verify the completeness of essential patient information and diagnoses. The trainee also reviewed laboratory records with laboratory technician Maria Hamdin, focusing on patient data, specimen collection, and proper storage procedures. The nursing department was also visited, where the importance of completing inpatient files, clearly documenting diagnoses, and monitoring patients until discharge was emphasized.

During a meeting with Surveillance Officer Huda Osman, the trainee reviewed disease reporting registers and investigation forms. Discussions also focused on specimen follow-up and feedback, active case finding within the hospital, and strengthening communication with the locality surveillance officer.

وشملت الزيارة مقابلة المساعد الطبي الهادي الطيب أبوالقاسم لمراجعة المعرفة بالتعريفات القياسية للحالات وآليات التبليغ الفوري عن الأمراض المشتبهة، ومسجلة العيادة سوسن حسين أحمد لمراجعة سجلات التسجيل واكتمال البيانات الأساسية.

كما تمت مقابلة مسؤولة الترصد عوضية حبيب أحمد لمراجعة مسار وانسياب البيانات، واختصاصية المعمل مزاهر عبدالكريم محمد للوقوف على توفر معينات أخذ وحفظ العينات، إلى جانب مقابلة الممرضة رفيعة بابكر محمد أحمد لمراجعة سجلات وملفات المرضى وآليات التواصل مع مسؤول الترصد.

وتناولت الزيارة أهمية معرفة الأمراض واجبة التبليغ وتعريفاتها القياسية، واستكمال البيانات الأساسية في السجلات، والالتزام بالبلاغ الصفري، وتعزيز التنسيق والتواصل بين الأقسام، بما يسهم في تحسين جودة البيانات وتقوية نظام الترصد الوبائي.
Field Visit to Al-Roseires Teaching Hospital to Assess Data Quality and Disease Surveillance

On 8 October 2026, Reham Abdullah Abdullah, a trainee in the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program (B-FETP), conducted a field visit to Al-Roseires Teaching Hospital in Al-Roseires Locality, Blue Nile Region, to assess data quality and strengthen disease surveillance and reporting practices.

The visit included a meeting with Medical Assistant Al-Hadi Al-Tayeb Abulqasim to assess knowledge of standard case definitions and procedures for the immediate reporting of suspected diseases. The clinic registrar, Sawsan Hussein Ahmed, was also interviewed to review registration records and the completeness of essential data.

The trainee also met with Surveillance Officer Awadiya Habib Ahmed to review data flow and reporting processes, and Laboratory Specialist Mazahir Abdelkarim Mohamed to assess the availability of specimen collection and storage supplies. A meeting was also held with Nurse Rafia Babiker Mohamed Ahmed to review patient records and files and communication mechanisms with the surveillance officer.

The visit emphasized the importance of knowledge of notifiable diseases and their standard case definitions, completeness of essential information in registers, zero reporting, and effective coordination and communication among departments, contributing to improved data quality and stronger disease surveillance systems.

نفّذت متدربة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي، تسابيح أحمد إسماعيل، بتاريخ 8 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة إشرافية إلى مركز صحي القدمبلية الجبل بمحلية ريفي وسط القضارف – ولاية القضارف، بهدف رفع كفاءة الكوادر الصحية في مجال الترصد الوبائي وتعزيز جودة البيانات الصحية.

وشملت الزيارة لقاء المدير الطبي للمركز د. عبدالرحمن الهادي حسين، ومناقشة أهمية الاكتشاف المبكر للحالات والتبليغ الفوري عن الأمراض الوبائية، إلى جانب الإشراف على عمل تقني المعمل خضر عثمان، والتأكيد على تسجيل الحالات وتطبيق البروتوكولات الخاصة بأخذ وحفظ العينات وآليات التغذية الراجعة.

كما تمت مقابلة مفتشة الإحصاء عائشة آدم غربال، ومراجعة أهمية تسجيل البلاغ الصفري، والتنسيق مع الشخص المحوري على مستوى المركز والمحلية، والتبليغ عند الاشتباه بالحالات والأمراض واجبة التبليغ الفوري.

وشملت الزيارة كذلك الوقوف على جهود الصيدلية، والتأكيد على التزام المحلية والوزارة بتوفير الأدوية اللازمة خلال حالات الطوارئ.

Supervisory Visit to Al-Qadamblia Al-Jabal Health Center to Strengthen Disease Surveillance and Data Quality

On 8 October 2026, Tasabeh Ahmed Ismail, a trainee in the Field Epidemiology Program, conducted a supervisory visit to Al-Qadamblia Al-Jabal Health Center in Central Rural Gedaref Locality, Gedaref State, to strengthen health workers’ capacity in disease surveillance and improve health data quality.

The visit included a meeting with the Medical Director, Dr. Abdelrahman Al-Hadi Hussein, to discuss the importance of early case detection and immediate reporting of epidemic-prone diseases. The trainee also supervised laboratory technician Khidr Osman, emphasizing the importance of documenting all cases and following protocols for specimen collection and storage, as well as feedback mechanisms.

The trainee also met with Statistics Inspector Aisha Adam Gharbal to review the importance of zero reporting, coordination with the surveillance focal person at the facility and locality levels, and reporting suspected cases and diseases requiring immediate notification.

The visit also included a review of pharmacy activities and the commitment of the locality and Ministry of Health to providing essential medicines during emergencies.

نفّذ متدرب برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي (B-FETP)، نضال حامد أحمد عبدالقادر، بتاريخ 8 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة ميدانية إلى مركز صحة أسرة الوحدة بمحلية الروصيرص – إقليم النيل الأزرق، بهدف تقييم جودة نظام الترصد الوبائي وتدفق البيانات الصحية، والتحقق من دقة وانتظام التقارير الأسبوعية والتبليغ الفوري عن الأمراض الوبائية.

وشملت الزيارة مقابلة المساعد الطبي يوسف محمد لتقييم المعرفة بالتعريفات القياسية للحالات، خاصة أمراض القائمة (أ)، وآليات التبليغ الفوري. كما تمت مقابلة فنية المعمل آمنة سر الختم عباس للوقوف على توفر معينات أخذ وحفظ العينات، ومراجعة سجلات الفحوصات والبروتوكولات المعتمدة لجمع العينات.

كما تمت مقابلة الشخص المحوري للترصد إشراقة محمد الزين لمراجعة آليات انسياب البيانات والتقارير الأسبوعية واستمارات التبليغ، إلى جانب مراجعة سجل المترددين وآلية التواصل مع مسؤول الترصد.

وتأتي الزيارة في إطار أنشطة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي الرامية إلى تعزيز جودة البيانات الصحية، ورفع كفاءة الترصد والتبليغ، ودعم سرعة ودقة الاستجابة للأمراض والأوبئة.
Field Visit to Al-Wahda Family Health Center in Geissan to Strengthen Data Quality and Disease Surveillance

On 8 October 2026, Nidal Hamed Ahmed Abdelgadir, a trainee in the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program (B-FETP), conducted a field visit to Al-Wahda Family Health Center in Al-Roseires Locality, Blue Nile Region, to assess the quality of the disease surveillance system and health data flow, and to verify the accuracy and timeliness of weekly reports and immediate notification of epidemic-prone diseases.

The visit included a meeting with Medical Assistant Yousif Mohamed to assess knowledge of standard case definitions, particularly Category A diseases, and immediate reporting procedures. The trainee also met with Laboratory Technician Amina Sir Al-Khatim Abbas to assess the availability of specimen collection and storage supplies and review laboratory records and approved specimen collection protocols.

The trainee also met with Surveillance Focal Person Ishraqa Mohamed Al-Zein to review health data flow, weekly reports, and reporting forms, as well as the patient register and communication mechanisms with the surveillance focal person.

The visit was conducted as part of the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program’s activities to improve health data quality, strengthen disease surveillance and reporting, and support timely and accurate response to diseases and outbreaks.

زيارة ميدانية لمستشفى القلابات الريفي لتعزيز جودة البيانات والترصد الوبائي

نفّذت متدربة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي (B-FETP)، صفاء عبدالله إبراهيم حسن، يوم الخميس 8 أكتوبر 2026م، زيارة ميدانية إلى مستشفى القلابات الريفي بمحلية باسندة – ولاية القضارف، الواقع بالقرب من معبر القلابات الحدودي، ويبعد نحو 42 كيلومتراً عن رئاسة المحلية و150 كيلومتراً عن مدينة القضارف.

هدفت الزيارة إلى تقييم جودة البيانات الصحية وتعزيز نظام الترصد الوبائي، من خلال مراجعة أدوات الترصد والتبليغ، بما في ذلك سجلات العيادات واستمارات التبليغ الفوري والأسبوعي وملصقات التعريف القياسي للحالات، إلى جانب مطابقة سجلات المرضى مع التقارير للتحقق من دقة البيانات.

كما شملت الزيارة تقييم معرفة الكوادر الصحية بآليات التبليغ عن الأمراض واجبة التبليغ الفوري والأسبوعي، ومراجعة إجراءات حفظ العينات وإرسالها، والتغذية الراجعة وانسياب المعلومات، إلى جانب الوقوف على أبرز التحديات التي تواجه المستشفى.

وشملت الزيارة لقاء المدير الطبي والطبيب، وتقني المعمل، ومسجل العيادة، والصيدلي، وتقني التمريض المسؤول عن العنابر.

وتأتي الزيارة ضمن أنشطة برنامج الوبائيات الحقلي الأساسي الرامية إلى رفع كفاءة الكوادر الصحية وتحسين جودة البيانات وتقوية نظم الترصد والتبليغ والاستجابة للأمراض والأحداث الصحية.
Field Visit to Al-Galabat Rural Hospital to Strengthen Data Quality and Disease Surveillance

On Thursday, 8 October 2026, Safaa Abdullah Ibrahim Hassan, a trainee in the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program (B-FETP), conducted a field visit to Al-Galabat Rural Hospital in Basunda Locality, Gedaref State, located near the Al-Galabat border crossing. The hospital is approximately 42 km from the locality headquarters and 150 km from Gedaref city.

The visit aimed to assess health data quality and strengthen the disease surveillance system through a review of surveillance and reporting tools, including clinic registers, immediate and weekly reporting forms, and standard case definition posters. Patient records were also reviewed and cross-checked against reports to verify data accuracy.

The visit also assessed health workers’ knowledge of reporting procedures for diseases requiring immediate and weekly notification. Specimen storage and transportation procedures, feedback mechanisms, information flow, and key challenges facing the hospital were also reviewed.

The visit included meetings with the Medical Director and physician, laboratory technician, clinic registrar, pharmacist, and nursing technician responsible for the wards.

The visit was conducted as part of the Basic Field Epidemiology Training Program’s activities to strengthen health workers’ capacity, improve data quality, and enhance disease surveillance, reporting, and response systems.
