Banat IT (BIT) is a non-profit from Timisoara that aims to keep the IT community connected and informed. We organize and promote events primarily targeted towards the tech and creative sectors.

Community Plaza had bean bags, good company, and a very challenging question: “Want to be a billionaire?”

Victory Square Partners hosted it, and for a while, half the plaza was secretly running the numbers on their next big move. Nobody left a billionaire, as far as we know, but plenty of people left with a prize and a good story.

We also sat down with the VSP team to talk about the past year, the next one, and how they’d like this community to know them. Watch the reel for the full chat.

Every neighborhood has a corner store where you stop for a minute, grab something cold, and somehow end up in a conversation you didn't plan.

At BIT BBQ, that corner belonged to istyle.ro. Between the food, the games, and the music, the Corner Store was where people took a quick break before heading back into the evening.

begatalks.ai #4 took AI out of the software industry and into places with rules, physical processes, and people at the center.

Remember the big block party we had last month? 👀

Well, as you already know, every good neighborhood runs on two things: food and a decent playlist. On September 1, d.velop AG took care of both, and then kept adding features.

The Neighborhood Kitchen kept the plates coming and the Front Steps kept the music going. In between, people chased clues across the whole venue in the treasure hunt, lined up to throw darts next to national team players from Darts Club Timișoara, and let an on-site chiropractor undo a few months of sitting at a keyboard.

We also caught up with the d.velop team for a quick chat about the year that was, the one coming up, and how they’d like this community to know them. It’s all in the reel.

Thank you, d.velop, for setting the table for the whole neighborhood, and for making sure everyone left with straighter backs and better aim. 🧡

The talks are only part of why people keep coming back to begatalks.ai.

It’s the conversations you end up having with the person next to you who’s dealing with the same problem as you do, and who tells you - off the record and over a drink - how they solved it. Excited to announce Lucas Velimirovici, PhD Researcher at West University of Timisoara and COO at eNavi, as a speaker at BegaTalks AI #4.

Lucas works at the point where energy markets meet applied AI, as an energy trader and renewables analyst navigating the volatility of power markets and the unpredictability of energy forecasting. His academic background spans Mathematics, Physics & Computer Science, and a recent MSc in Artificial Intelligence.

At BegaTalks AI #4, he'll share a case study on AI in energy operations: a before-and-after story built on real data and results, covering what worked, what didn't, and what it takes to trust a model when money and grid reliability are on the line.
