Dylan was found on literal death's door early spring of 2024. He was found limp, hypothermic, scrawny. Theea brought him back from the brink.
Turns out he had FIP. Five years ago it was a guaranteed death sentence, until a miracle drug became available.
Sadly the cost for this was steep and 84 days of treatment were needed. Hundreds £s in donations from supporters and Theea’s dedication saved his life.
He then joined the cat colony. Ultimately, likely due to the stress of communal living, last winter he developed the other (worse) type of FIP again. The odds of this are in the realms of "winning the lottey". Another gruelling 84 days. This time, it wasn't as successful. The disease crossed the brain barrier. He became paralysed and incontinent. He survived, but his recovery was set to be a much longer journey with urinary infections, bed sores, skin burns (from urine) and loss of fur thrown in to the mix.
10 months later he has finally regained the ability to walk, he is still incontinent.
He wears nappies that need changing, and bathing daily. Time Theea cannot spare when there are 200+ animals that need her too. Dylan has survived death TWICE. He will not survive another brutal winter.
Theea needs that time freeing up and Dylan needs a home. He has been offered a place with a fosterer. But he NEEDS donations to cover transport and vaccinations. Our appeal got zero donations and he could not be booked to travel as planned.
