ARAC (The Romanian Association for Contemporary Art) is a non-profit organization founded in June 2012, in order to produce and promote contemporary art in Romania and abroad. The team of ARAC supports and promotes contemporary Romanian artists by attracting funds in order to ensure financial resources – as part of ARAC’s mission statement. An important objective of ARAC is to facilitate internati

onal cultural exchanges with artistic environments from around the world. Through the years, ARAC has organised residency programs (58 Plantelor Residency), exhibitions and published art books while actively investigating and reflecting upon emerging developments in contemporary art and culture.

The European Alliance of Academies launches Re:Create Europe (2026–2029) — a four-year collaborative initiative co-funded by Creative Europe of the European Union.

Re:Create Europe responds to increasing pressures on artistic freedom across the continent by reinforcing resilience, solidarity, and cultural autonomy. Through mobility schemes, residencies, learning formats, and exchange, the project supports artists and cultural professionals while strengthening transnational cooperation in times of crisis.

Combining mobility programmes, residencies, blended learning, digital mapping, and conferences, Re:Create Europe empowers practitioners across disciplines and regions, fostering long-term collaboration and shared responsibility within Europe’s cultural ecosystem.

The project officially begins with a Kick-off Meeting on 25 March 2026 (2–4 pm), where partner organisations — including ARAC — will present their visions for the next four years. Under the theme “Transformation of Cultural Policies,” the first year centres on cultural resilience, institutional autonomy, and civic engagement through artistic practice.

Începem anul cu un semnal pozitiv de colaborare și dialog. Ne bucură faptul că Ministerul Culturii a primit inițiativa noastră și a răspuns solicitării de a deschide un dialog pentru a îmbunătăți transparența și procedura de selecție a proiectelor pentru edițiile viitoare ale Bienalei de la Veneția. “On July 14, 2023 a powerful thunderstorm knocked down our 10 meter willow tree. During the storm itself I thought that all the windows would be shattered and we would receive, along with the dog who was sitting glued to me on the bed, both of us crouched like frightened rabbits, projectiles from neighboring trees or objects that had become flying. I felt so strongly, then and many days after, that my life was very fragile and easily destroyed. ” (Text by Delia Popa)

„Pe 14 iulie 2023 o furtună puternică a doborât salcia noastră de 10 metri. În timpul furtunii propriu-zise am crezut că toate geamurile vor fi sparte și vom primi, împreună cu câinele care stătea lipit de mine pe pat, ghemuiți amândoi ca niște iepuri speriați, proiectile de la pomii învecinați sau obiecte devenite zburătoare. Am simțit atât de puternic, și atunci și mai multe zile după, că viața mea este foarte fragilă și ușor de distrus.” (Text de Delia Popa)

Anca Poterasu Gallery is pleased to present Delia Popa’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, titled Loc de acțiune – Crețești, curated by Julie Crenn. The show creates a space where local heritage, global influences, and personal history intersect, challenging the marginalization of the rural world in contemporary culture.

“Delia Popa and I share a desire to make rural areas visible. It remains an unthought-of part of the collective imagination. We speak of the countryside as if it were an undefined, unlocated space, as if it were a non-place.” (Fragment from the curatorial text)

Galeria Anca Poterasu are plăcerea de a prezenta prima expoziție personală a Deliei Popa în cadrul galeriei, intitulată Loc de acțiune – Crețești, curatoriată de Julie Crenn. Expoziția creează un spațiu în care patrimoniul local, influențele globale și istoria personală se intersectează, provocând marginalizarea lumii rurale în cultura contemporană.
