Amanhã, quinta-feira, 2 de outubro, terão lugar ações urgentes de protesto em várias cidades do país.

👉 Em Lisboa, o protesto será em frente à Embaixada de Israel, às 18h00.
O movimento de solidariedade com a Palestina convoca todas e todos para um protesto urgente contra o ataque israelita à Global Sumud Flotilla.
O Estado de Israel continua a atacar — desta vez, contra uma ação internacional pacífica: a Global Sumud Flotilla, que inclui a delegação portuguesa composta por Mariana Mortágua, Miguel Duarte e Sofia Aparício.
As embarcações, que transportavam ajuda humanitária, foram intercetadas ilegalmente em águas internacionais, com as tripulações detidas de forma arbitrária.

👉 Este ataque ilegal, em flagrante violação do direito internacional e da lei do mar, constitui uma agressão contra Portugal e contra muitos outros Estados.
Foi um sequestro em águas internacionais e uma detenção arbitrária e ilegal, cuja libertação imediata se impõe.

🇵🇹 Portugal tem de agir para:
Garantir a libertação imediata dos cidadãos feitos reféns por Israel;
Pôr fim ao cerco ilegal a Gaza;
Impor sanções efetivas a Israel.
Convidamos todas as pessoas solidárias com a Palestina, defensoras da paz e dos direitos humanos, e todas e todos os cidadãos indignados com este ataque a juntarem-se a nós neste protesto.

Israeli vessels menaced the flotilla’s 41 vessels for several hours on Wednesday night, before boarding lead boat Alma, and Sirius shortly afterwards.

Tomorrow should be interesting - Italians have said they will shut things down, similar calls made in many countries. Here in Portugal, not sure how many people will take to streets. We will continue to march on Friday to the Israeli embassy to express our rage.

Kieran Andrieu was livestreaming for Novara Media from sailing yacht Adara. He reported a boat approaching fast, shining bright lights and spraying water on him, before IDF soldiers jumped on board.

On June 15th 2025, a group of people marched from Carcavelos beach, to Praça do Comercio, to the Israeli embassy. We marched in Solidarity with those trying to of the illegal occupation of Gaza and the ongoing apartheid, racism, ethnic cleansing and violence in the West Bank. We marched for a . We marched, not because we are "fighting the good fight", but because we are firmly convinced that this genocidal state will fall and peace will reign.

The dial has changed, Israel knows it, the US knows it, even Germany knows it... Its not a question of if, its now a question of when.

We marched about 20-30 km in the Portuguese heat. It was tough. But nothing compared to the nightmare those in Gaza face right now.

People from many nations marched together on this day. It was powerful and beautiful.

Now we build on these links for greater system change.

When governments fail, flotillas sail.
When governments baulk, we walk.

Entrevistamos, ainda neste contexto, a nova revista Poucaterra, que pugna por acesso à terra, agroecologia e convivialidade (uma leitura a juntar à revista Flauta de Luz, com o nº 11 já nas livrarias).
Pelo recente número do MAPA há espaço ainda para entre outras entrevistas, recensões, poesias e notas, para ler sobre a brutalidade selvática de um dos mitos fundacionais da portugalidade, a Batalha de Ourique; ou ficar a saber quem foi Simona Kossac, a mãe da floresta. On Saturday, the AMMMAAZZZZINNGGGG artistic intervention that is came into existence up in Povao. A host of major artists did top work to create a very powerful artistic experience. Leading Palestinian solidarity movements, like Movimento pelos Direitos do Povo Palestino e pela Paz no Médio Oriente and PUSP - Plataforma Unitária de Solidariedade com a Palestina held a series of debates about how to bring about wider change.

A few people from went, and were really hoping for electric discussion about strategy and how can we activate the still huge amount of Portuguese who are still not out on the streets... But, most felt it was still lacking.. So, on Friday we will explore this blockage with a chat about "How can Portugal up its game" under the beautiful Olive Tree at Belem. Hope you can join us there.

Most of this group are immigrants (Palestine, Latin America, Mid East, Ireland, India, UK, Germany...). Most speak Portuguese, but not all. We hope this dynamic can help build bridges, both in Lisbon, between different peoples and world views, as well as between Portugal and the communities and ways of resisting empire from those countries we come from..
