The Lisbon Living Room Sessions happen on the last Sunday of every month. (Occasional exceptions will be posted.) Always in private homes, always in Lisbon. This project functions on donations, but generates no profits and is purely a labor of love. Room Sessions are inspired by the tertúlia, the salon, the Viennese coffee house, the Stammtisch: we create an intimate forum for the people who love to make music, and the people who love to listen to music, to come together and do what we love. A space where artists can feel free to experiment, to test new projects, to follow flights of fancy. Live, up close and personal - the way it all begins. We are genre-free. We have hosted jazz, blues, folk, flamenco, morna, forró, chorinho, MPB, classical music, Indian ragas, Afro-Peruvian funk, chanson français... the list goes on. And it's getting longer one month at a time. The Lisbon Living Room Sessions cut out the noises (and the pretenses) that distract us from live performances in bars, clubs and restaurants. We're here for the music. If you want to drink and chat there are plenty of other spaces open to you! Space in the living room is always limited, and by invitation only.
